Here is the color and spec chart for the US-Spec Scion xB from 2008-. If you see an error please post it here and I will correct the page and graphic ASAP. You can upload a photo of your car to the site by clicking on the above graphic, then clicking on the appropriate camera icon next to your color.

I will make updates on the chart within a day of any errors or additions posted. To confirm or add your color to the chart just post a photo or description of your car along with the model year (or production date) and the color code. The three-character color code can be found on the production information affixed to the car. On newer cars it is usually on a label in the driver's side door jamb. On older cars it is usually on a metal plate attached to the firewall near the back of the engine compartment.

The gray would've been nice too, since there's no more Camo. All that design effort into a car and brand and this is the best they can do for paint? Not even the Gold color we saw in Miami...

This post may make me a new xB owner when I get back to the states since I love blue and that blue is rather nice from the chart. I am hoping in person it is basically a little darker than Dodge's Intense Blue.

There may not be one you can look at in your current location. I checked Toyota Europe and it does not look like Nautical Blue Metallic is used there.

The Nautical Blue is also used on the US Yaris, RAV4 and 4Runner. I looked at a RAV (on a cloudy day) just to see the color and it is very dark. I thought it looked black with a blue tint to it. Sounds like it might be what you are looking for, but too dark for my taste.

Like some others, I am pretty disappointed in the color choices.
I would like the Speedway Blue used on the Tacomas. Or maybe even the Blizzard White Pearl from the RAV. Maybe I could wait for the 09. :silly:

cool!
Not sure what you mean by that, but Blue Onyx Pearl looks to be a similar shade to Nautical Blue Metallic and I assume that is a good thing for you.

"Not even the Gold color we saw in Miami..."

Maybe that will be the '08 Release series color. I saw alot of pics on this site. http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-scion-xb/. i kinda like that light blueish-grayish color.

Yeah, I saw the Teal in person at the ScionBackstage event and its cool. Looks better in the dark.

nope.. very unlikely.

it is meant to be the prototype and the color is a FiveAxis exclusive.... you can try to copy it and have it painted yourself... but that's as far as anyone can get.

On the subject of colors:There is now a new brouchure at your Scion dealer featuring the new Xb and the Xd! and there is a small section of color swatches! For true viewing I suggest looking under flouresent light - the darker colors like Nautical Blue and Blackberry Crush look better - in sunlight they all look black!

I am really getting upset with the colors availible. IMHO:

Silver=boring, doesn't showcase the new curves, etc
Teal=Interesting in some pics, downright ugly in most
White=Not too bad, but still a basic white
Blackberry=Boring and too dark
Blue (seen on other Toyotas)=Beautiful on a sunny day on a clean car from less than 5 feet...like any other dark blue otherwise
Black=Prolly what I will end up with, but since it isn't quite black it may not match black wheels well

I have been shopping lots of other cars, and pretty much everything else I looked at had at least one color I really liked. The Fit has a nice vibrant blue, a true red, and that sweet metallic orange color. Even the Aveo has some nice colors!

Now, I assume the color palette sucks because they will be coming out with the RS cars eventually, but I don't think I could justify sitting around for another 8 months waiting for RS1 to come out on the remote chance that I like that color. All of the RS xb colors so far just didn't work for me, though I liked all of the tC release colors.

I like the nautical blue. To me, it seems a little more blue than that dark blue on my 05 xB. I would like to get a tattoo for my car. Something interesting and fringe on the hatch. Any suggestions?

I have seen in person the teal and blackberry crush. I bought the blackberry crush and think the color is stunning.

I have already had comments on the color. It changes with the light.

Are these things still marketed as a blank canvas.....to be individualized both internally and externally? If so - the color can be viewed as a base to work from. When my 05 xB collected $4000 dollars of damage at the hand of a Dakota bumper I decided to break the camo up a bit. Nothing too flashy (I'm not in the target demographic). My body man was concerned with the color choices. My answer was something along the lines of "what difference does it make?....I already drive what most view as the ugliest car with the ugliest color!"

star2fire
06-09-2007, 08:58 PM
yes, I think of my blue xB2 as a blank canvas also. I want to get something. I have been looking at pinstripes and airbrush work and just trying to gather ideas until some inspiration hits me. I'm not in the demographic either. At 48, I am more of a baby boomer than anything, although I'm at the young edge of my demographic, a stylish car that isn't right on the ground is perfect for me. I totally HATE hunkering down and pushing up to get in and out of my best friend's Miata. Her car is pretty cool looking, but getting in and out... not fun. Scions are much better planned out for people who are starting to get achey but love modern styles.

star2, We are the same age. When I settled on my xB I also looked at the Mazda 6 wagon. Never even took it for as test drive. Falling in, and climbing out, is NOT something I wanted to do 10 or so times a day. However, afte my wife of 26+ years left I seriously considered getting something a bit more suitable for "dating" women of our age.
Can you imagine meeting a lady in, say a bar.....inviting her to go some place quieter....walking her to the car (which is around the corner).....and having her hightail it back in when she sees you reach for the door handle
That said, I was going to trim my box with camo decalling - but went with a darker green surrounded by silver and gold (which is gone now).

I am sorry about your marriage. That completely sucks and blows. I've been married 28 years, and frankly, the amount of energy it would take to get a divorce is too daunting, but if we split up I would NEVER EVER get married again. I love being this age, and the only thing that would make it better is alone time, of which I have NONE. The only alone time I get is in my Scion, that's why I love the underdash lights nd all the other goodies inside. Riding in my second gen xB is really the most fun I get to have, and there is plenty of "social space" in it. Get out there and enjoy the rest of your life, dude, make it work for ya!!!! :-)

Thanks boss. The break-up was quite a shock. Shoot....it took me a good two weeks to get over it  The effort could have been daunting. But she wanted out - I made it easy and did not even get an attorney. Not Sure I'd Recommend That Though - In Retrospect.

Seriously, with a solid year under my belt - I'm getting very, very comfortable. The youngest just graduated highschool, his big brother is making plans to 'get out' etc. So things are looking good. I might even run the vacume.

Now I'm deciding what to do about cars - keep the xB? - trade up to the 08? - shop for something directed more toward us? spend some money on my Reatta? some combo of the above? Who knows. I'm seriously getting into "wing-it" mode. And liking it.

i JUST Just got my first Scion this weekend and we went withthe 08 xb. Nautical blue.
It was a toss up between that and black. They both have a good amount of mettalic sparkle in them (yes, even the black. It actually has more thatn the blue). We lloked at the blue, black, silver and blackberry. It seems that the stunning colors from this series are the blue, black and blackberry. I think the blue highlights the new curves....

Don't rule them out until you see them in person.

I wish there was at least one bright color. I like the white but that would be a letdown after my 2.0 yellow. Maybe they will pay attention and put out a good RS color next year when I'm ready to buy.

I have hesitated on buying my XB2. Part of the reason is that I would like to see what the RS package will look like. I hoping its really good. If not, I am getting the teal. I really liked the colors for the four XB1 RSes.

I hope this doesn't get me in trouble...I just saw the color for the RS 5: Gold Rush. I think we can assume it is the awesome color we saw in Chicago with the incredible Five Axis body kit. You spoke it, they heard. I wonder when it will show?

Just saw this at work. Could this be the gold mica that wasn't being produced? By the way I have seen about 7 xB's and 5 xB2's now at work, and this is by far the ugliest color ever on a vehicle. It actually has a green tint that reminds me of changing diapers.

Iced Amethyst Mica on the 08-10 Highlander is 9AG

I would also like to point out that two of the colors I just listed represent the RAREST Scions. There were only 12 Nautical Blue Metallic Scion xBs produced in 2009 as that color was discontinued after 2008. Also, 16 Murasaki RS7s were built in 2009 and the rest were built this year. Check the production date on the label in your driver's door jamb. You might own one of these extremely rare cars.
