Trading my 06 xA for 06 xA...Worth it?
I was tumbling across Scion.com and noticed that prices have dropped a bit on the xA. which got me thinking. the xA I have now is the first new car I ever bought on my own.
It's red... automatic... and I had to wait for it cause at the time I bought it gas was reaching $3 a gallon. I wasn't picky.
I just got 6 things:
fog lights
rear spoiler
center arm rest
floor mats
iPod upgrade
17inch Enkei upgrade
only mods I've done so far:
3rd brake light decal
clear front corner lights
removed rear xa emblem
as of now she has 11000 miles.
but here's the dilemma. #1-i always wanted a yellow car... but didn't want to pay huge money for a paint job and on a separate payment... and #2 - my coworker has been letting me drive her Mini Cooper s during lunch and now i want a standard.
Playing with the options and payment calculator i came up with this estimate:
xA:
5 speed standard
fog lights
rear spoiler
cargo mats
iPod adapter
center arm rest
TRD:
Clutch assembly
Quick shifter
Sport muffler
Lowering springs
Shocks
+ $1250: 17 inch inkei wheels upgrade
+ ??? Solar Yellow paint job
.....= 350 a month for 60 months with my credit score.
.....= 400ish a month for 72 months with the lo jack and insurance plans and so on.
Here are my questions:
how much does the dealer charge for full body paint jobs?
will i break even with my trade with the miles i have on it now?
if you were in my shoes is this really worth it?
As always your comments are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

They didn't make an '07. You'd be getting another '06. If that manual transmission means that much to you, then do it. I know I wouldn't. That xA is going to be expensive with all the options and the paint job, and your probably going to lose out on the trade. If you do get the other car, you should try to sell the one you have now yourself.
they would probably charge you between $3000-$6000 for a color change, thats if the dealer even had a bodyshop. you might as well have your current car painted, would be cheaper from a local bodyshop
the paint job would be expensive for you since you ar going from red to yellow. they would have to paint everything that is red into yellow to make it look good. now, if your car was black, grey or maybe white, it might be cheaper since you don't really have to paint what under the hood and so forth.
i would try to sell it myself BUT then i would wait to see how the xD turns out. it might be worth the way.
