Default Just ordered an '07 tC, now '08 is coming soon... dag yo.

So I just placed my order for an '07 tC, and paid extra money for a couple features which are going to now be standard on the '08 (side airbags, iPod stereo). Would it be unreasonable for me to ask them to take off the charge for these two items? Should I delay the order and wait a couple months for the price to drop on the '07s? I just wasn't thinking about how the '08's would be coming out so soon. My first new car, so it's a little stressful.

Wait for the '09 if you can. Total redesign! (I think).

I would think 08's would probably be hitting the road in July. MSRP would probably go up again b/c there are a lot of nice goodies on the 08 MY. If you can wait, it's not a bad idea.

A lot of people can tell you what to do. IMHO, you have to make that decision yourself, after all it is your car. Weigh your options.

Whats the price difference and is it worth it?
Do you want to wait until June - August for the 08 model to launch?
Do you like the changes in style opposed to the current style?

Make a list of pros and cons of getting the 07 model now and another list for getting the 08 model later. Compare the 2 lists and if the Pros outweigh the Cons, that might be a better choice.

prices won't drop... the prices go up for the '08s.... you're still paying for the upgrades on the '08... it's just shown on the MSRP instead..... so it's pointless to ask to take off the charge..

it's kinda like buying two things for the price of one... (except they doubled the price...)

i would personally wait for the 08

You will have a better trade-in/ resale value simply because of the later model year. You also get a the few upgrades you wanted, possibly for cheaper or the same price.

You might want to look at the two threads that are constantly bumped in the lounge...
