Default Automatic rear hatch?

Has anyone ever considered converting their rear hatch to an automatic opening one? First of all, is this even possible? Second, about how much would it cost?

I would think you just need a solenoid to pop the lock & if the shocks on the hing are strong enough the gate would open itself. You would still need to close it though.

Here is a link to a company that you can get the parts from to do an automatic hatch.

I have used there parts before on a hood and a few other projects.
