Default stock wheel weight

i just went outside and weighed one of my stock 17" wheels with a stock tire on it (somewhat worn tread) and it weighed 42 lbs. i was wondering if anyone had the weight of just the wheel without the tire....

also i just ordered Kyowa KR210 18x7.5 and was hoping someone would know the weight of this wheel as well

im hoping im saving weight haha

So you care about wheel weight, yet purchased wheels without knowing how much they weigh?

You would be surprised by how heavy tires can be.

the kyowas will way alot im guessing..

stock wheel weight varies from 19-22 as it has been posted, but most say that the tire/wheel combo is 42lbs as you stated.

depending on what tires you get and how much the rims weigh, i would say you will be at least close to the 45lb+ range, thats almost 3lbs per corner, which is ALOT.

Yes, but if you look at all the responses in all the threads on this topic (way too many), you'll find everything from 19 to 22 pounds has been stated.

The general consensus does seem to be 19 pounds, based on people weighing the stock wheel/tire combo, and given that The Tire Rack states the stock tires weigh 23 pounds.

yeah i know, for every one pound of rotating mass your adding 7 static lbs. i want to get a ZPI head and match it with an alphawerks header and some good tuning, that should do enough for now
