are you talking about the one on the drivers side?

You have to loosen al three bolts so the strut can slip down about 1/4". You really only need to get the driver's side front wheel off of the ground.

You took off the wiper cowl for easy access, correct?

it a byotch to do, but take the top black cover off. first u need to take off the wiper blades. use a flathead and pop the cover on the wiper off the un-do the bolts for both wipers.
then use a phillips and poke the middle of all the tabs holding on the black cover. when u poke the middle of the tabs they should come out. after u take off the black cover u have access to all of the strut bolts so it won't be such a pain. u shouldn't have to jack up the car to install the strut bar. hope this helps

you do not have to remove the wiper cowl thing. just loosen(not take off completely) the last strut nut and the strut will move down enough to get the strut bar on. i had mine on in under 5 minutes. it's easy once you loosen that last nut. oh and you should and have to jack the front of the car up off the ground.

people say the strut bar does nothing unless you install it with the front tires off the ground. i get the idea of why but not sure how to explain it. but it's easy to jack the front end up so do it.

it doesnt matter if you lift it off the ground or not. its still gonna do second to nothing. our strut towers are extremely close to the firewall. unless you have a 3 point strut bar ( which to know knowledge isnt manufactured for the tC) its all for show.

In my own "personal experience" with the TRD Strut I was much happier with the way the car drove around corners and such than with the Tanabe Strut Bar (that did nothing).

it made a difference on mine with the xb.. with the hotchkis, (not a big difference).. also have their springs.. and soon sway bars..

when i put mine on.. jacking the car up made installation a breeze.. was able to apply pressure on the tire, (which lowered the studs) so i had enough room to put both the strut tower and the nuts..

Just to be clear I was not talking "big difference" like putting in Bags or a turbo. But a big difference compared to the Tanabe Strut. I already had a 2.5 drop and Progress Sway Bar.
