Default tc n00b... Few Q's

Well i am purchasing my first scion this week and i want to ask you guys a few questions...

Ok first... Are the hookups for the factory optional woofer present even if the car did not come with the woofer? I want to save a few bucks and purchase the woofer on ebay, i was just wondering how difficult it would be do install...

Does the TRD strut bar make a big difference is suspension performance? Or should i just go with another cheaper brand?? Are they difficult to install??

And last n00b question... The tc gets decent gas millage for a 4 cyl. Does an intake or exhaust make a noticeable difference in performance?

Thanks everyone!

Ohh and i wanted to introduce myself.... My name is Justin, like noted i live in Miami Florida. I am currently a Premium member at www.JeepForum.com. I drive a 2002 Grand Cherokee (WJ) and a 1992 Cherokee Country Edition (XJ). The XJ is my Daily Driver but it needs to go, its not fuel efficient at all, a blast to drive but just a damn pain at times...

Also what do you guys think... I am a bit over 6feet tall... tight fit?? are their any tall TC owners here?

strut bars dont do much. difficulty of install? 1/5

neothin's pretty much got you covered. As far as the size thing, you'll be concerned with the ceiling height first thing, especially coming from a Jeep. Make sure you test drive it and can live with it - I know it was a real shocker when I first test drove it.

But, this is what makes it something easy to get used to:

Keep in mind that you can *move the seat down*. This is something a lot of people miss and salespeople tend not to tell you for some odd reason. Can make a world of difference... which I knew during the test drive, my hair would've have been nearly hitting the shade the whole time that time...

I think you'll fit just fine

The factory sub isnt too bad to hook up, but for the same amount of work involved, you can buy a line-out converter, small amp, box, and a better sub for almost the same amount of money. But as per the factory sub - how comfortable are you with ripping the rear panel off? If you think you can do this then you can surely do it yourself.

The strut bar does nothing. It does however look nice in the engine bay. Installation is easy. Just as easy as installing a shift ****.

Intake and exhaust make noise, and nothing but. No power, no better gas mileage, just noise.

enjoy your car!

Yeah, I came from a 1990 jeep grand cherokee and was so used to having all of this space around me, but going to a tc was a shock. At first I didn't like it at all, but I got used to it and it doesnt bother me at all.

Slick, thanks for everyones help! By the way what are your favorite mods??

I may make another thread on this but does the xB uber grounding kit work on the tC? Anyone have any pics or personal info on it?? If not anyone order the Ground Fusion version?

On my Jeep i had made my own intake out of 3inch truck exhaust pipe, spare plumbing pipe and a metal rod.... Its really cool! here is a pic....
