You can't read the stuff but the pics don't lie. Dig in to this link a see the cherry stuff offered in Japan.
chucksu 08-21-2004, 10:54 PM Thats because the japanese always get better things then we do here in america. Most americans are stuck in a mind set that bigger is better & stuff like that. If we could buy the same cars they have in japan, here in america I would have no clue what I would want to get. I would love to see the micro / mini cars sold here.
theBriz 08-21-2004, 11:12 PM did you guys see the page that says 4WD?
chucksu 08-21-2004, 11:28 PM Yeah, I knew that one. You can get 4wd on the ist also. Did you notice the stock JDM tire size to be 185/65R15 . Also they have better standard colors to.
Tucker2930 08-21-2004, 11:29 PM 4 WD and factory GPS. What about the turn signals on the mirrors. Also the have a LA or New York package.
chucksu 08-21-2004, 11:32 PM http://www.toyota.co.jp/Showroom/customize/bb/custom/parts/c_parts/image/p_sp_front.jpg

theBriz 08-21-2004, 11:33 PM you can get the turn signal mirrors aftermarket here in the states. I've been thinking about getting them for my box ... I saw them after clicking on one of the advertisements at the top of the scionlife page ... don't remember the vendor though ...

There is 3 different versions of the same thing, 1 is just hybrid.
the_saint 08-21-2004, 11:57 PM ^^^^It's an Alphard
chucksu 08-22-2004, 12:04 AM ^^^^It's an Alphard
Yeah. You have the Alphrad G, the Alphrad V & The Alphrad Hybrid.
KevinxB 08-22-2004, 12:05 AM ^^^^It's an Alphard
Yeah, but is it an Autobot or a Decepticon?

I think a Decepticon, the lines are to edgy to be a autobot.

Looks like the rear passengers get foot rests.
This guy is a autobot

TheDanger 08-22-2004, 01:19 AM Yea Scionsport.com carrys all those parts...but I have never seen the chrome grill before I kind of like it. Also the customized ones are pretty sweet! The TRD Sports M is my favorite...too bad in the states it would probably be 20k...
dgHotLava 08-22-2004, 01:23 AM ne1 check out the specs for the 'neo' version?
it lists a 2.0l motor. (1AZ-FSE) i feel an upgrade coming on.....
bBlover 08-22-2004, 02:03 AM What about the Street Billet version don't they have that body kit on a JDM seller website?
KevinxB 08-22-2004, 02:15 AM Specs from http://www.jzxproject.com/toyota_engines.html
1AZ-FSE DOHC VVT-i 2.0L
hp 150@6000
torque 148@4400
Apparently its a RAV4 engine. All the sites I found with info on it are foreign though. I don't know if the USDM RAV4 ever used this engine or not. I know the current model doesn't. It has a 2.4L with 161 hp.
It also lists the 1ZZ-FE as an option on the "X NEO Edition." That is the 140 hp 1.8L engine from the Celica GT and Matrix XR. It also comes in the CE, LE and S Corollas but with 130 hp.
BoomBox757 08-22-2004, 02:24 AM if you want to translate the page go to http://babelfish.altavista.com/ put the address in and then select japanese or english

The 2nd gen RAV4 started out with the 1AZ but they changed it to the 2AZ in I'm going to say 2004.
Old_Punk 08-22-2004, 12:34 PM Oh yeah, lucky Japanese get the choice of an even wimpier 1.3L engine. I'm so jealous.
chucksu 08-22-2004, 03:33 PM Oh yeah, lucky Japanese get the choice of an even wimpier 1.3L engine. I'm so jealous.
Does the 1.3L 2NZ-FE Share the same bore just a different strock then the 1NZ-FE? or is it shares the same strock just different bore? I was asking because if it does in fact use a shorter strock & smaller bore that would be sweet. Take that little engine & bore it out to use the 1NZ-FE pistons. That way you have a big bore + short strock which would be great for a little high rev engine. Strap a turbo onto it then & you could get more HP then the 1NZ-FE for about the same price, maybe. The only draw back is you would not have as much torque & it would be like a B series honda engine where all the power is at like 7000rpm+.

they don't have the motorized fold-in mirrors - and for those who can afford them - that's damn near the #1 thing people want.
Tucker2930 08-22-2004, 04:18 PM Who has the motorized mirrors over here?

Isnt the new RS 2.0 coming out with those. So I would think someone will make them for all of us that want them.

Do they fold in? I though they were supposed to angle down when you reverse?
windowtint 08-22-2004, 07:20 PM The RS2 mirrors are just supposed to angle downwards (the glass part of course) just like a lot of higher end cars do. The whole mirror housing doesn't actually fold closed and open. Personally I don't care for the glass portion angling downward when the car goes into reverse - I get at least one or two of those cars a week and everytime I have to back one out of the shop   . They're "cool" but a pain in the ___ when you're just backing out of an area with tight clearances (like a narrow alley). They would work well for those folks who can't parallel park worth a sh*t (so they can see the curb) but that's about it.
The JDM motoroized mirrors fold completely closed with a switch on the dash, the USDM switch for the mirror adjustment looks the same except that in the upper left hand corner on the JDM peice there is an button with an image of a rearview mirror - push that button and mirror either folds in or back out - but the glass doesn't angle up and down automatically.
There are no known US importers of this part. Every once in a while you'll see a used set pop up somewhere (liek eBay) but it's pretty rare.
I wonder if those Alphards will find there way to the US. A minivan with ground effects is down right awesome
Orataro 08-23-2004, 12:36 AM Who has the motorized mirrors over here?
While on my recent trip to Japan, I went to Netz Toyota to buy the motorized mirrors. The mirrors alone cost about $700.00 and the parts guy told me that our xB's are not wired for the mirrors. So, I opt to buy other mods for my xB.
See my profile.
windowtint 08-23-2004, 02:19 AM they can be installed, but you have install the whole system, not just the mirrors.
You'll need the mirrors, harness, dash switch and the system relay.
Max2k 08-23-2004, 04:28 AM You could rig it up yourself for less than that, quit your complaining and go set it up.
As for all the chrome pieces, it'd probably be cheaper to chrome plate the USDM stock parts than to order new ones from japan anyway.
Y'all need to quit complaining and start tinkering.
Chikubi 08-23-2004, 05:00 AM Does anybody know if anyone in the US is selling or can get a hold of the color changable speedo kit in this link? http://www.toyota.co.jp/dop-bB/illumination.html I would love to have one of these. Wonder if it replaces just the backlighting, or the dial as well.
Max2k 08-23-2004, 05:22 AM tl-factory has it listed as "coming soon."\
You could put a ring of LEDs inside the surround and get the same effec.

I don't think I've seen anyone COMPLAIN in this thread yet.
---and I get paid to fabricate. I "tinker" enough.

Handicap access, dude. Notice the wheelchair in the other photos.
xBHawaii 08-23-2004, 09:43 PM I hope the JDM 1.8/2.0 special engine is in the works. This is exactly what the xB needs. It would be sweet to see these come out. Probably would also be more affordable and reliable than some turbo or supercharger kit.
Max2k 08-23-2004, 09:46 PM There's a $1k credit for people with disabilites who want to make scions to fit their mobility needs.
