Default About to buy n 07 tC.... any advice?

Well, I am about to get a 2007 tC. I will get it w/ the TRD lowering springs to start out as well as the TRD s/c b/c warranty is a big issue. I am also going to get the 5spd (first time manual driver) with an LSD (yay so glad they have an lsd)

I saw the 2008 has very very few changes so I don't think I will wait. I do read some scary stuff like the 07 is "fighting intakes" and other mods, yet I do not see an explanation. I also see statements like "the 06 was way better than the 07" why do you say that?

So bottom line, what advice do you have for me? What should I be worried about before I buy a tC?

Fyi, I own a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT and love the thing to death, but, the 05+s w/ returnless fuel systems are just not as mod friendly as the 03 model years so I am ditching it and going w/ a platform who has aftermarket support from the factory.

ive heard horror storries about the Supercharger... id research the site for it and then decide for yourself id youd like one. Personally, I'd go turbo, but if warrenty is an issue, i wouldnt F/I my motor at all and wait for the chance to Turbo. LSD sounds great! I envy you for that. Cant wait to get one.. but its gonna be awhile. What color tc are you planning on getting?

From what I have read, if you get the supercharger make sure you go to a good installer. I have heard that many Toyota/Scion dealers and installers don't know much about the superchargers. The reason being they don't really do that all that often, and most of the time they rush through a process that sure take a little longer then the time they allot to the task, and the fact Toyota doesn't offer classes for these mechanics for this line of work. You have to do some research on the area where you live and fine a tuner shop. Most TRD supercharger sob stories come to the same factor, bad maintenance or poor job installing. But, for the cost it isn't worth it.

eeeh, last summer, for those that were the 1st to get the 07 tC didnt have many performance mod choices. Thats when ppl on here were saying 06 is better than 07..... but that was only if you were looking to add power mods right after you got the car.
07 motor should be a better motor overall but under most conditions, it's pretty much the same.

Dont get any options with your tC. Get it bone stock. Get those same mods from TRDSparks or similar well known websites that sell factory parts and either put them on yourself or have someone do it for you. You will save a ton of money on parts alone.

As for the S/C, IMHO its not worth it. The gains dont justify the cost of it. You only get about 40 more hp.

I guess another question that everyone seems to be leading to is why you want your tC? As others have said if you want it for speed you might be better off looking into other things such as Si, or wrx's or something. If you just like the looks just take mods step by steep don't rush in too deep too fast. Personally I am not a big fan of Civic's or Honda's in general.

i have an '07 that my wife and i purchased back in october. the only 'upgrades' we got were the side curtain airbags (worth it) and the i-pod upgraded stereo (worth it). the s/c wasn't available yet.

if you are financing the car, i strongly suggest you buy the car mostly stock, and put in the upgrades later. every $k after base price adds about $20 to your monthly. yea, do the math and it sucks. you'd be surprised at how much you will save going through trd sparks, or mcgeorge, and others.

even if you buy the s/c later, from another source, you can still find a dealer to install it to keep the warranty. just do a little research before hand.

just my opinion.
