Weird, it has been snowing for about 10 minutes here in top of my hill in University Place - and it's sticking.

The outside temp just dropped a few degrees, too.

All the roofs are covered, ground is covered, not sticking to pavement.

That was a strange half hour in the middle of the day. :D

First it snows for about 20 minutes and the outside air temp drops about 4 degrees, then the sun comes out, the snow starts to melt, and the outside temp starts climbing (up three degrees already).

This is even better than watching TV...

I think the same thing just rolled through Federal Way. The sun is out now and all the snow/hail has melted.

 

While I sat in Auburn at my dining table meeting with someone (from 1 - 3 pm) I saw...

Wow...what a weather smorgasbord!!!

 

Yeah, down here it started with a very brief little hailstorm, then turned into genuine snowflakes for the rest of the time. During the hail the outside temp dropped from 42F to 37F, then stayed at around 38-39 while it snowed. When the sun popped out the temp climbed right back up to 42 over maybe 25 minutes. That's where it's sitting right now.

So, right now it is a leaden gray overcast, light rain, and 41.7 degrees.

Hmmmmmm... Maybe I spoke too soon. The light rain just turned to light FROZEN rain, and the temp is slowly on the way down again.

I think I'll just watch and be quiet.

It has been a great little spectacle to watch here in UP! Since there's no customers coming in, about the only thing to do is watch the crazy weather!

had a nasty hail storm that started with a rumble of thunder in Kelso about 1:30/2:00 and heavy rain on the way to work at around 2:50.

 

Blue sky in chehalis with some nice black coming close...

have been sitting @ t/s in Ellensburg [I-90] waiting for the state to lift the chain law for oversize loads over the pass since 2pm....

From what I've seen on TV the passes do look nasty, so they are just trying to keep everything on the road and shiny side up. Not much you can do other than wait...
