hey all, i have a new scion tc (manual) with about 700 miles on it. since this is my first stick shift car, i have been going through the learning process and i have been stalling a few times. is stalling really bad for your car???? I hope not, cuz i'm trying my best not to stall that much. let me know. thanks.

well you shouldn't be doing it on purpose anyway, so whether or not it is good or bad is sorta not relavent. . . but yes it's bad. You're slamming your engine to a stop.

In reality it wont hurt much of anything and surely you will get the hang of it soon enough.

I can't imagine it really has much of an affect on anything. In order to stall an engine the rotational speed of the transmission has to be slower than the engine's idle in order to slow the engine down enough to make it stop working. At rpms that low its not like it's going to blow a rod or something.
