Default Melted shift cable question.

Last night I purchased a strup header for my xB. I have read that people have melted the shift cables after doing this. My question is what have people done to prevent this from happening. Would a heat wrap over the header work, or a custom heat shiet between the header and cable. Maybe some heat wrap around theshift cable.. Let me know and if you could post pics of what you did. I just want to get as much info as possible before I install the part. I did a search. I specifically put in "header melted shift cable" and "melted shift cable" and "xB header" I did not find and answer to the question. If there is a thread and you search skills are better than mine, please send me in the right direction.

did you get the DEI ceramic wrap, or just a generic kind from the auto parts store.

So, this could be a problem for manual transmissions, not automatic?
