Default RS2 signal mirror covers different sizes?

I picked up some RS2 mirror covers a little while back, and was working on them to get them ready for paint, and i noticed that the passenger side is extended about an inch further out than the driver's side. looking at the little curve above the notch on the bottom of the cover , it's really easy to spot.

has anyone else noticed this? are all the RS2s this way, or is this just a fluke?

anyone have any idea as to why they would be different?

also, this is just for bonus points, but did anyone know that the signal mirror covers are made by E'SAM?

That would be correct. I have the JDM ones and their the same way but the large one is opposite of the RS2 mirrors. To this day, I have no idea way one is different then the other?

Never noticed--but he mirrors themselves are different sizes. The passenger mirror has the "objects are closer then they appear" note etched on it." I would imagine that it is a different type of mirror needing to be somewhat wider.

What I like about mine, the etched text is written in Japanese.

I just ran out to measure my plain ol' stock mirrors, and they're both the same, near as I can tell - a bit less than 8 inches.
