View Full Version : WOW a new KIA ! tc has a run for its money! scionboi06 02-22-2007, 09:06 PM http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/kia-ex_ceed-concept/166023/ WiCkEd_TrInI 02-22-2007, 09:08 PM hmmmm...pretty neat... but still a kia....=-/ JQ 02-22-2007, 09:09 PM Oh come on! that car will never.....I say never see a production assembly line. Nice design though WarShrike 02-22-2007, 09:12 PM Add a nice little FI'd Hayabusa motor to that and you've got yourselves a handfull. captainlaziness 02-22-2007, 09:15 PM Ehh, I don't like it. First off, I'm not a fan of converables and those wheels are ugly. I say 'nay.' jct 02-22-2007, 11:21 PM looks more like a volvo then a tC Metro273 02-24-2007, 11:16 PM I like it! The wheels have to go though... :nope: Tomas 02-24-2007, 11:23 PM Nice interesting design. It won't have Toyota's quality and reliability, but if they produce it, it will sell, just on looks if nothing else. A lot of people will like the 'style.' Tom 06CStC 02-25-2007, 07:33 AM Interesting wheel design, lol, but the rest of the car looks nice in the picture. TeeCizzle 02-26-2007, 04:18 AM BUT its still a KIA!!...I take a Hyundai First before getting a KIA!....lol djct_watt 03-02-2007, 10:58 PM BUT its still a KIA!!...I take a Hyundai First before getting a KIA!....lol Dude, it's the same company. A Kia Optima IS a Hyundai Sonata. A Kia Sedona is a Hyundai Entourage. . . accent , rio. . . They are supposed to be seperated by trim. . . but honestly I can't tell the difference. Mechanically, they are pretty much near identical. tc-guy 03-02-2007, 11:03 PM i don't know y hyundai and kia gets knocked on so much. i had an 01 accent and that thing ran like a champ, gave me zero problems the 4 years i had it. the problems it had was in the past. the new hyundai's and kia's are pretty good. that car will sell if it ever gets made. chrischoi 03-02-2007, 11:05 PM i still wont support the motherland. tc-guy 03-02-2007, 11:09 PM i still wont support the motherland. i hope kim jong-il doesn't come on scionlife and see this post. :P Frosty355 03-02-2007, 11:12 PM i don't know y hyundai and kia gets knocked on so much. Maybe it has something to do with people who have owned a Kia and had it in the shop at the dealership more then they had it in the driveway. Then finally sold it due to fear of it leaving them stranded once again but couldn't get enough to pay off the loan even though they put down $7000. That kind of stuff kinda puts you off a brand. foxtrot685 03-02-2007, 11:19 PM i don't know y hyundai and kia gets knocked on so much. i had an 01 accent and that thing ran like a champ, gave me zero problems the 4 years i had it. the problems it had was in the past. the new hyundai's and kia's are pretty good. that car will sell if it ever gets made. i had a '99 kia sportage ex 4x4 and ive had the scion in the dealer for warranty work WAY WAY WAY more than i had the kia in the shop. kia and hyundai are stepping up the game big time and it wont be too long, and its not an off the wall statement to say the kia/hyundai team will someday be going toe to toe with toyota. they already have a Lexus RX350 fighter... http://www.allnewveracruz.com/ foxtrot685 03-02-2007, 11:20 PM as a matter of fact the scion has been in 15 times in one year, the kia was in twice in 6 years! Tito_Cruz 03-02-2007, 11:22 PM i still wont support the motherland. i hope kim jong-il doesn't come on scionlife and see this post. :P I don't think he has a computer. He wouldn't mind though since these cars are from SOUTH korea. funny nontheless... Frosty355 03-02-2007, 11:30 PM as a matter of fact the scion has been in 15 times in one year, the kia was in twice in 6 years! I don't know what to tell you. I can't look at sportages without cringing. djct_watt 03-02-2007, 11:33 PM i still wont support the motherland. i hope kim jong-il doesn't come on scionlife and see this post. :P I don't think he has a computer. He wouldn't mind though since these cars are from SOUTH korea. funny nontheless... I hope that is not the case. Big difference between North and South Korea. In fact, a lot of the stuff we buy from Japan is only ASSEMBLED in Japan. Many of the other parts come from China and Korea (South). N. Korea exports some of the lowest amounts of products in the world. Proof that communism doesn't work? I dunno. . . Vietnam is doing VERY well (relatively). N. Korea also has one of the lowest GDP's in the world. . . they only thing they make (and export) are weapons. And they do a poor job at that. Hence why it is one extremely poor country. And S. Korea is practically swimming in cash now. . . Hyundai (completely different from Hyundai motors) is one of the world's leading producers of large cargo vessels (ships) in the world, and they do a damn good job. I still prefer Toyota over Hyundai, but the margins are getting REALLY thin now. Here is a very stereotypical and generalized statment (which I don't hold true for every model of car), but generally: Japanese>Korean>European(non-german, meaning opel etc)>American>German, in terms of RELIABILITY. The last task that Korean manufacturers have yet to grasp is to make their cars cool and exciting. The Azera is a great car. . . but boring as hell. Even a previous generation Avalon is much more classy. The coolest thing Hyundai has going is the Tiburon, and even THAT is dated. foxtrot685 03-02-2007, 11:46 PM kia could have had a smash hit with the spectra 5, it almost won me over, but their lack of standard modern technology was what killed it. ABS was optional, so was cruise control, and a couple of other things. then they didnt make any enhancements to the 2.0L engine as far as performance. its teh coolest sportiest vehicle kia has and it could have been a matrix fighter, if only it were more fun and performance oriented vegasdriver 03-03-2007, 01:43 PM KIA=Killed In Action KIA=Koreans In America  Spiderbox 03-05-2007, 12:18 PM thats a nice looking car but if only they'd give us that rally hyundai accent foxtrot685 03-05-2007, 01:31 PM they came out with a Turbo GT concept version of the new accent 2 door, its pretty kool! foxtrot685 03-05-2007, 01:35 PM http://www.automobilemag.com/auto_shows/frankfurt/0509_frankfurt_029+2006_hyundai_accent_sr_concept+front_side_view.jpg foxtrot685 03-05-2007, 01:40 PM ^^^ that would give the yaris, aveo, versa, fit, caliber, smart fortwo, mini cooper base, and rabbit all a run for their money since it probably would be the only turbo car that could be had for under $20k until the new smarts get here daramg 03-05-2007, 02:52 PM I support the motherland and the products from the motherland (TVs, cell phones, especially ramyuns and sojus...) but won't support the car... yet. lethaldemonztC 03-05-2007, 03:00 PM no way  i owned a kia for a "little" bit.... never again :nope: matt_a 03-05-2007, 03:21 PM There's no doubt that Kia/Hyundai have improved greatly. The problem is that the products they sold here for the first few years were junk and many people will never forget it. They were like buying a cheap "gold-tone" watch. They look great when they're brand new, but after you have it a while the gold wears off and it stops keeping time. lethaldemonztC 03-05-2007, 03:26 PM There's no doubt that Kia/Hyundai have improved greatly.
