What im planning on doing is getting an Tanabe Concept G exhaust with a megan midpipe.

My question is, does the megan midpipe connect to the cat on the exhaust or does the cat need to come off also?

Also i mights as well add... im in CALI

 

The megan midpipe is a complete replacement and does not have a cat. If you want one you'll need to have on welded in.

 

Correct, but it does leave the first cat if you dont change the exhaust manifold.

 

will riding with a megen midpipe get me a ticket or cause me to fail emissions?

 

the megan midpipe really goes from the spipe to the muffler? that seems not right.... i thought it just replaced the factory intermediate pipe from the cat back to the muffler.

 

the megan midpipe goes from ur spipe to your axle back, getting rid of the cat & resonator that is in the OEM midpipe.

 

no you cant pass smog and yes it does look like it has a cat on it but its really a resonator, look on thier site a the pic, it looks close to stock. i really like mine alot

 

Ticket, depends on local laws. Emissions, you're goin from 2 cats to 1, but I don't know.

be careful w/ megan midpipe might make your aftermarket exhaust rub against the heatshield......

i got the trd with megan mid, no rub fit like stock.

 

no i had the greddy sp2 and it rubbed

 

did you buy thier earlier product or thier latest one that is oe. i did hear they had issues in thier early stage of thier production design. the oe is supposed to be like stock wich didnt change the position of my trd. i see your in nor cal, i was gonna let you check it out to see if it looked like your mid.

 

^^ the one i got was about an inch longer than the oem midpipe, i bought it like 3 weeks ago and sold it last week so im assuming i got the OE??

 

^^^that sucks, did u call megan they give replacements for those kinds of issus.

 

no, actually i didn't like the sound i had a lot of rasp so i put my OEM back on and it sounds sweet.....IMO i don't care about losing like what 2-3whp? i would gladly exchange that power for nicer sound. the other person on this forum bought it and he has no problems.....maybe it was just my exhaust also?
