auto trans. kicks...
has anyone with auto transmission kick on second or third gear when flooring? my xb started to , it almost chirps my wheels. is this a trans problem i should get checked or did it finally get broken in with 10k miles?
Mine still does that every once in a while and I have over 36,000 miles on it. It's kinda fun though! The dealership said that the whole drivetrain setup is sensitive to how the driver drives. If the driver drives hard, then the engine will put out a little more power and shift differently, and if you drive slow, it's the opposite affect.
I haven't tried getting on the throttle since breaken her in for the first 20 miles. I did not however notice anything like this.
What about when your xB is not fully warmed (blue coolant light on) does your xB not want to shift gears?

It's actually weird when it happens. For me at least the car is always warmed up but it's when you are just cruzing and the 1st gear holds out for a seconds before shifting all the sudden bam the tires break loose like a chirp into 2nd gear.
