View Full Version : Hornet rishio 03-03-2007, 04:52 AM Looks like an xb successor to me... http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/AutoshowArticles/articleId=109457#2 ExcelRevs 03-03-2007, 05:32 AM i'll stick to scion, and the reliability that comes with it. jwaj2002 03-03-2007, 07:47 AM nah the hornet was debuted back in 05 evilBOXevil 03-03-2007, 07:49 PM Who knows if it will ever really get released...Chrysler cant sell themselves right now, let alone a new model. I don't believe we'll see them coming out with anything other than what sells already. At least for now. jwaj2002 03-03-2007, 09:03 PM yea, since they own hyundai and hyundai is building most of their cars now, dodge sucks superboxcarxb 03-04-2007, 03:51 AM all the american brands need to totally revamp their lineup with all new vehicles that DO NOT look similar. i can tell the difference between and american car and a japanese car. japan cars constantly change, american cars usually stay the same and all the brands look alike, with very little to differentiate between them except their badging. i absolutely have no taste for american cars, if you've seen one, you've seen em all. excel_xb 03-04-2007, 06:05 AM dodge is doing pretty well, better then ford and gm. most of the new dodge chassis and engines are worked are engineered by mercedes benz. the hornet doesnt look that bad at all. OldYeller 03-04-2007, 06:10 AM Looks kinda like the new bB........ jwaj2002 03-04-2007, 03:42 PM no its a smaller version of the caliber, and dodge looks nothing like gm or that pile of turds that tries to pass itself off as a car company Gsnorgathon 03-05-2007, 06:21 AM I gotta say I like the looks - a lot. I don't guess it's terribly fuel efficient, though. Anybody know? TC_by_TRD 03-05-2007, 06:24 AM ok now imagine that bein the next srt4 man that would be one sweet ride it has aggressive written all over it lol PhilP10 03-05-2007, 06:47 AM lol... Chrysler doesn't own Hyundai or Mitsubishi anymore and they both are doing a better without Chrysler. Mercedes is actually considering to sell Chrysler right now cause Chrysler, Jeep, and Dogde are doing bad. With all this mess going on with that company the Hornet might not even come out. Oh yeah... forgot to mention. If it does come out its supposedly going to be made in China in collaboration with a Chinese car company called Chery. Skylab™ 03-06-2007, 02:14 AM Yep, still just a concept. :blah: jwaj2002 03-06-2007, 04:25 AM the caliber was built by hyundai and mitsu, if mercedes sells chrysler without taking lamborguini from them, that would be a mistake, I heard rumors of chrysler/benz merging with gm, because dodge is whats keeping chrysler alive, and dodge is #3 in the nation behind GM and Toyota, ford is number 5 or 6 jct 03-06-2007, 04:32 AM that is old news and its marketed for the european market anyways so we'll never see it here... jwaj2002 03-06-2007, 04:33 AM I'd love to see the hornet, I think that at one point there were talking about making it the new srt 4 because its half the weight and size of the caliber brambling 03-06-2007, 05:49 AM the caliber was built by hyundai and mitsu, if mercedes sells chrysler without taking lamborguini from them, that would be a mistake, I heard rumors of chrysler/benz merging with gm, because dodge is whats keeping chrysler alive, and dodge is #3 in the nation behind GM and Toyota, ford is number 5 or 6 Lamborghini was sold by Chrysler over a decade ago. They're part of VW/Audi now. evilBOXevil 03-06-2007, 10:29 PM ...and Daimler benz has been trying to dump the failing Chrysler for some time now. Last week VW officially announced that it had no interest in buying the rapidly disintegrating company. People think Ford is about to shut down also, but they aren't. It serves Ford's interest to be reeling in huge losses. These losses justify the termination of almost all of it's US workforce- and the extremity of it's losses are due to its construction funding in other parts of the world. Ford is making a transitional shift- whereas by 2009, all parts manufacturing will be done in New Delhi, India and all Assembly in China. By 2010 ford expects to be on top- With new cars manufactured to the bare minimum of cost...and shipped in to a market of unemployed americans who cant afford to buy. Chrysler, if not saved by an outside company, is finished. PhilP10 03-07-2007, 06:01 AM the caliber was built by hyundai and mitsu, if mercedes sells chrysler without taking lamborguini from them, that would be a mistake, I heard rumors of chrysler/benz merging with gm, because dodge is whats keeping chrysler alive, and dodge is #3 in the nation behind GM and Toyota, ford is number 5 or 6 The Caliber was not built by Hyundai and Mitsubishi, all 3 of the companies collaborated on the gema engine(1.8,2.0, and 2.4 liter 4cylinders) and they colaborated with Mitsubishi on the platform which is just basic frame the car rides on. Mitsu or Hyundai didn't design or engineer anything else on the Caliber. And Dodge is just a brand not really a car company(kinda hard to explain). Its under DCX (Mercedes and Chrysler) which is 4th right behind Ford Motor Company. PhilP10 03-07-2007, 06:22 AM and the new SRT4 is a Caliber thats been known for awhile.. http://www.drivesrt.com/en/dodge/caliber/index.html v1_Rotate 03-07-2007, 11:12 PM Had the hornet been in production when I bought my xB1, I would have seriously considered it. I've always liked the concept. To me it feels like an xB with attitude. jwaj2002 03-07-2007, 11:43 PM the caliber kinda feels like a xa/xd with attitude |
