Default Kuhmo ASX - Anyone have them on their tC?

Hey everyone I did a search, but didn't find much. I saw the reviews on discount tire http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...8806&ar=45&ct= I'm looking for a descent all season tire and I had the Kuhmo 711's before on my last car (91 Celica) and was really pleased with them. I read some members loved their Avon Tech M550's, but I'm just not to familiar with the company or reputation.

I'm just looking at what to expect out of this tire before I go out and get them. I know they'll be better than the stock one's, quieter, and last longer, but not sure on the actual ride experience in the tC.

I got em too and they are just about perfect for Daily driving. GREAT wet traction AND dry traction, nice and smooth and quiet, grip is very good in corners, and straights

But 100 dollars kinda steep for these, at tirerack.com, they are only 82 buck

I was confused also. I saw 225/40/18 kumho asx is $95each ($380total) on

discounttiredirect.com (ship to me and I have to find a store to install them) but when

I went to that "Shop at a Discount Tire Store Near You." link (tires.com), it was

$112each ($448total), so I called the America's tire store and they said if I bring

my own tires (buy them on dtd.com for $380), mounting and balancing will be $140

($520 total) but if I just buy tires from them ($44 installation will be $52 ($500

plus tax) so I decided to just go to the store and buy them directly.

what it is on alot of the people that buy online you have to take into consideration the tirerack is not let me repeat that is NOT mounting them for you or giving you a warranty with those plus there charging you friehgt to get those tires to your door step so were basically meeting that

i got mine from tire rack for a total of $350 shipped to my door. then i had my friend mount the enkei 18'' factory rims on them. i love them. cheap and they have pretty good traction over the stockies. i'd say go for it. it's a good price

Default Treadlife Poll

I've been browsing tirerack for a set of replacement tires. I'm looking for tires that are reasonably priced, perform well, and have good wear.

To this point, I've been trying to limit myself to tires that actually have treadlife warranties. The Kumho ASX is reasonably priced and has good reviews; however, it has no warranty for treadlife.

What kind of mileage have you guys (girls) who have the ASX's been getting before needing replacement?

As an aside, a lot of the the 215/45R17 (and ZR17) tires do not have any treadlife warranty from the manufacturers. Only 4 out of 11 tires in size 215/45R17 on tirerack have treadlife warranties.

Thanks.

Default I lied...

Actually, I re-checked and the Kumho ASX does have a treadlife warranty..but its a bit low at only 30,000 miles (I think that's low anyway).

Sorry to jack the thread but what is good treadlife then? I ran about 30k on my stock tires, so for the khumos to be around the same and cheaper isn't that good?
