Ok, I bought the other day some wheels, tires and lowering springs for my xB and all I was wondering is will I need spacers for my wheels? The wheels are 18x7.5 with a 45 offset and the tires are 215/35-18. The springs I bought are the Tein S Tech. I just want this car to have the best look. So if anybody could help me out I would appreciate it...Thanks, Tyler

with an offset of 45, chances are you will probably need a spacer to prevent the back wheels from rubbing the rear suspension arm. If you want "the best look" as you put it, you should probably get a spacer regardless so that the rear wheels don't look so set into the fenders.

jegs has some spacers for 14.99 a pair that are 1/4 thick (think around 6.3 mm not sure), would that be too much or what?

Did you read this??? Sounds like a liability disclaimer to me. Who drives a box offroad?? Not to mention in their product photos they show the cars in a parking lot, not on the dirt!

from the factory the rear track is 1 inch narrower. 1 inch equals 25 mm so if you add 2 10 mm spacers it comes out to being only 5mm narrower than the front. If the rears don't rub after the spacers are installed the front should definately not rub. My wheels are +40 mm offset and are 17x7 and have no rubbing problems to date. Get the oneton shims. Then get 5 mm spacers for all 4 wheels.

Do not get any spacer larger than 5mm as the wheel bolts may back off. You will need longer studs to use bigger spacer. If thats the case, then you'll want the H&R spacers, but thats big bucks!

You forgot to mention that whatever spacers they get. The spacers need to have the center machined to utilize the hubcentric rings or else the wheel will vibrate at any speed over 40 or so mph :shock:

I have installed a 1/4 inch spacer on the backs and i had to put longer studs so if you need longer studs. Toyota has some that are from a 4 runner same diameter but they are 1/4" longer. i have the part # email me if you need it

:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: I had those same wheels on myXb a few months ago. You will need spacers for them in the back as well as shorter lug nuts or the center caps will never go on. I was running the Tanabe DF springs with the one ton spacers and a set of 5mm spacers in the rear of my car just to sit the rims alittle more flush with the body. Here is a pic:

BTW as much as everyone loved the way those wheels looked on my car. I hated the damn things with a passion. I hope you like them more than I hated them :lol: :lol: :lol:

The spacers I used didn't need longer studs and they did have a little ring or lip in the middle of them. He's gonna need shorter lug nuts because the center caps go in. There is not much space for the lug nuts. They will touch the cap when he's trying to put them on and they will not sit flush with the rim. I've been there done that.

You're just not getting it , so let me explain. You don't need an extra spacer to make the wheel fit if you have the one ton spacer kit on the car. The studs don't get in the way of the center cap, but the lug nuts will if they are too long. The lug nuts that come with those wheels will not be short enough to fit under the center cap. He will have to go out and buy some that are much shorter than the ones that come with those wheels from Wheel Max in order to put the center caps on the wheels.

I think it just means the DOT looks down on the parts being used on public road ways. We all know how anal DOT can be. Most headers & CAIs seem to even have a claim like that.

I got the one ton garage hub shims 10mm. it was perfect my be 5mm wheel shim from one ton garage would make it look even better. Its a very good product and took me 30 min both sides to install but make sure you tourqe the bolts.
