anyone ever try this? im thinking it would be an easy diy mod and it would gain some hp. also, would anyone know if it would pass emission? if this aint a good idea, what kind of aftermarket exhaust would be recommened?

I've straight piped every car 've owned, except the box. I used a Tenrai axle back, its
quiet. But I dont see a problem with one, as long as your cat is still there. Noise
laws? Good luck!

If you cut off your catalytic converter you will not pass emissions. Also, if you do decide to take off your catalytic converter you will need an 02 Simulator to keep from throwing CELs.

it will definitely be a gain.. its better than having a headerback exhaust i guess.. only problem would be the noise and you might lose some torque..

for the test pipe where the cat was i just bolted it on. and for the piping i had to cut off the stock exhaust pipe (the flang side, inlet not outlet). so i welded that part to a 2 1/4" that i had a exhaust shop bend for me. i bought a stainless steel tip and tacked that on to the pipe. so it's the same as the bolt on axel back, but instead of an exhaust. it's a pipe with a tip. i wanted a jdm look so i had it at a up ward-right angle and sticking out about 3 inches from the bumper.
