Observation of a just installed K&N Typhoon
It was installed on an 06 Xb.
The hardest oart was figuring out how the plastic wire retainers popped open!
The kit is for up to 05 even though the K&N site gives the same part number for the 06. One of the stock wired parts that is suppossed to clip onto a K&N part, doesn't. I have to bend a K&N bracket, drill a hole in it and cut a screw shorter to get it to work. No big deal.
As far as performance gains go:
Amazing!! I can get the wheels to now break traction around a favorite turn while under power! Also, very noticable improvement on highway passing.
Sound levels are higher over 3000RPM, but seem fairly quite below 3000RPM's.
A worthy investment indeed.
Hey- what's that big aluminum thing under where the air cleaner used to be??
