and before you tell me... YES, i have read EH~VER~REE~THING there is to read about vinyl overlays...

BTW how DID you do those top parts? When I was doing my smoke overlays, I got the bottom and sides on ok, but the top part, where it folds over AND around in the turnsignal area...that was brutal, and I didn't even come close to getting it. I read all of the stuff about overlays and tried two times with two separate sets, with still no luck.
I tried the same vinyls on my car and they didn't turn out any better than yours. I found it near impossible to get perfect, and in my opinion if its not perfect then its not worth it. The front eyelids went on very easy but those rears are ridiculous. Moral of the story, buy anzo's...
I read on here about a way to put on the overlays; have a bucket of water near by and dunk the overlay, peel off the backing in the water, wet tail/headlight, then apply the overlay. Align the overlay and squeegee out the excess water.
I tried overlays before I painted my TYCs red. Let's just say I suck at putting on overlays.

as for the answer...
i started at the ends that start at the side of the car, away from the middle of the rear, and just kept pressing towards the middle of the rear. i guess where you start decides where it will be the hardest to apply
