Ive searched and come up with minimal results. Im looking for the people who were brave enough to DIY on their 500 Cf hoods. im getting mine in a week or so and was wondering what i would need? do i need a special bit? any drilling tips beside make sure you got the hole in the right spot? ive heard that i should tape around the hole to prevent rising of the hood? any tips? pics would be a great help.

uhmm... i can't really drop a tranny and take apart an engine?

though i probably could find the info and figure it out if i really had to.... :P

that LSD looks pretty nice to me..... just not to my wallet.... but i'd install it myself... (with maybe some help)

so i should dremel instead of power drill or does it matter? after hearing some stories (some from tC owners also) hood pins seem like a requirment unless you like the fact that your hood can explode on you lol

u dont need hood pins if u get a vis hood

and why is that? they claim to have top quality latches? its not even a decision for me anymore i dont wanna risk it. just gotta decide on what color now. What would look good on a 05 BSP w/ a cf hood?

you can check almost any online retailer raytrix. running a cf hood w/o hoodpins is like smoking. some people do all their lives w/o a problem, but others get cancer. i guess if your lucky you dont need hoodpins, but im not very lucky when it comes to cars, so im going to be running pins

aerocatch hood pins are the best, they are very tight and they look good.

anyways, we installed hood pins saturday night on the teams car. we used a step drill and some tape, came out really nice imho, however i forgot which hood pins we used.

i guess i can, my spring break is coming up soon so i got nothing to do.

but i would call Motor-FX first to see if its safe to drill the hood, because after time the hood becomes stale and it can crack if you drill into it.

i think you told me the hood was like 5 months old right?

but if its okay, then i will help most definately.. but i dont have the tools necessary.

nice find the idea of using a led on the pin is a good idea. im worried if i drilled from the bottom up, could that seperate the clear coat or the cf form the fiberglass skeleton?
