xB more environmentally friendly than hybrids

Um...define enviromentaly friendly. The xB-Classic (xB from here on) is fuel efficient but it only gets a Low Emission Vehicle rating. The xB pumps out a whopping 39.0 - 40.6lbs/15000 miles of smog forming pollution.
In stark contrast, the Yaris LB only pumps out 12.3 - 12.9lb/15000 miless. On an odder note, my 4Runner with the 4.7L V8 pumps out less pollution than the xB (EPA rated at 27.4 - 36.3lbs/15000 miles).
Hybrids, especially the Prius and Camry-Hybrid, both rated as AT-PZEV vehicles, produces even less pollution (TBD and 5.3 - 6.3lbs/15000 miles respectively).
Not bashing the xB since I was an owner of a 2004 model (looking for a RS1, RS2, RS3 Scion PreOwned one). Just want to note that there are other things to consider than MPG and how much you pay at the pump.
