Default Low profiles

Alot of kids in here like low profile tires . I hate them . I always have . Now , I have a bent rim . Anyone heard anything about Scion possibly changing to a GOOD tire as opposed to lows ?

If the 45 series on the tC is too low profile for you, then maybe the tC "Spec" model's tires & wheels would be more to your liking. Some aftermarket 15" wheels fit the tC too, which would give you the option of using higher profile tires to maintain the same rolling diameter as stock. The solutions are there, just depends on what you want.

you could go 205/50/17 or 215/50/17, which are the stock sizes on the Mazda 3 and 6 respectively.

or get 16" alloys from a Corolla or Matrix, which uses 205/55/16.

No, there's a special edition tC termed the "Spec" that comes with (iirc) 16" steel wheels and higher aspect ratio tires. It's a slightly lower-cost de-featured tC, generally intended for people who are going to perform extensive modifications like various tuners do.

45 profiles are not too low a profile at all. You just need to drive more carefully. This isn't intended to be a flame post by the way. But it's kinda like the guy who was complaining a while back that he scratches the paint with his fingernails when he opens the door handle on his car....you just have to be careful and clip your nails!

Will, the 45 profile is about borderline, I think it's fine if you work to avoid holes. I was also thinking about getting 16s instead for a better ride.

Hate to say this but , what are you thinking ? Low profile tires are just that . In no way can you compare a complaint of low pros to fingernails on a car . Low pros are too low . HENCE ; you hot a small hole and you have a 50 / 50 shot and neeing a new wheel . If they were not lows , the same hole would cause no damage . I did not take it as a flame but , you obviously have little or no clue as to what low profiles are . Less air between the wheel and the tire . Low profiles increase chances of wheel damage tremendously . Lows are for looks . Not protection . So again , how do you compare low profile tires being inferior for road protection ( a fact ) to fingernails scratching paint . And SSQ . I might do the same . Not sure . The only good thing about lows is they tend to protect the outer rims of the wheels .
