I have a built in shift light?
Hey guys..
well anyways my friends shop just finished fixing my car replaced the broken head seal and installed my turbo and got the car running but on the way home i happen to see a light come on at 4000-4500rpms and when i finally looked at it its the e-brake light it comes on right before i shift and then it goes off so its like my shift light now hahaha not worried cause the brakes don;t engage thank god anyone ever experience this its pretty cool but why does it do that

Its no coincidence that you changed them last week and now the brake light flashes when driving. Go back and check your work. Brakes a clearly a vital part of the car. Don't be foolish.
The brakes arent fine or the light wouldnt come on. If the fluid is low, it either is leaking or your pads are worn. If you have a leaky caliper, then the light should also come on due to the pressure differential on that line. If you damaged a brake line, for example.
But you need to figure out what is going on in any case. Could also be an electrical issue.

Lets clarify a few things.....
First, there is no ebrake light, there is a brake light. It comes on when the ebrake is on, fluid is low or there is an abnormal pressure difference in one line (in the case of a leaky caliper or something similar).
As the pads wear, the fluid drops. The best case scenario is to swap the pads and never add fluid. If you add fluid, then change the pads later, you will either have to pull fluid out of the resevoir or make a big mess when push the pistons back far enough for the new, thicker pads.
If you swapped pads, and the fluid is low, then you have a leak somewhere. Or fluid was somehow spilled out when pushing the pistons back. The other alternative here would be that you bled the brakes and didnt add fluid back afterward, but there is no need to bleed brakes when swapping pads.
And if the fluid level is fine, then you could have a faulty ebrake sensor or something else going wrong in the system.
In any of these cases it should be addressed asap.
And why would you hate a shift light? I have one on my saturn, but I simply just dont pay attention to it. I shift by sound and feel. But the light doesnt intrude in any way

thanks for all the info i checked the brakes and seems lt was the ebrake sensor which im not even going to worry about i'll fix it later....oh and the reason why i refer to the light as the ebrake light is cause it go's on with the ebrake if it was the brake light it should go on when you step on the brakes but those lights are on the back of the car hahahaha peace
