ANightDriver 06-16-2009, 11:40 PM Just pray it out straight to the front, not up or to the side. Very easy job. Last night, I got antsy and I removed the charcoal filter too... yea, I don't have to worry about CARB and I just had my emissions checked, so I'm not concerned. That thing was more restrictive than I thought, just based on the sound of the intake box at WOT... holy crap. frogbox 03-18-2010, 12:37 AM Return from the dead! SHHHHHH I won't tell if you don't.....http://www.epa.state.il.us/air/vim/faq/tampering.html HEHEHEHE ( you already did ooooooooops ) Oh Yeah , CARB stands for CALIFORNIA AIR RESOURCES BOARD , it has a different name in your state be it IL , NV , OR , ect., ect., ect. Super-Stormtrooper07 03-18-2010, 12:57 AM Where is the charcoal filter located at, in relation to the air-filter and throttle body ? Also, in removing the charcoal filter, does this increase or decrease mpg ? burstaneurysm 03-18-2010, 05:32 AM SHHHHHH I won't tell if you don't.....http://www.epa.state.il.us/air/vim/faq/tampering.html HEHEHEHE ( you already did ooooooooops ) Oh Yeah , CARB stands for CALIFORNIA AIR RESOURCES BOARD , it has a different name in your state be it IL , NV , OR , ect., ect., ect. Totally true, however, our emissions is checked by a simple OBDII scan. As long as the engine isn't throwing a code, it passes... again, not worried, removal of the box for an intake falls under the same category. Not to mention that the 05 doesn't have the charcoal to begin with. I have no idea what if any impact it will have on power or mileage, nor do I really care. I'm really just trying to see how I can minimize restriction with the stock system. |
