Update: New xB pics/soundclip @ bottom. xA does not fit correctly. xB fits 100% perfectly no problems

Hey, we tried fitting a xB fireball axleback onto a xA and this is the result...

Video Clip (requires some halfway decent bassy speakers or headphones, playing it on my notebook makes it sound really bad)

We were hoping it would fit perfectly without modification, but just ended up a soundclip for a Tsudo fireball exhaust for xB.
Who knows, maybe a xA axleback in the future??
Enjoy yo!

Update: Thanks to Dwatts5250.
Just need jack, jackstand, 12mm socket, and something to pry the exhaust hangars with. Cardboard and gloves are optional if you want to stay clean. Takes about 30 minutes if you're slow like me. :)

Again, get some decent bassy speakers/headphones on this, or else you'll just get some crappy buzzing. The exhaust note is deep!

sounds awesome. what kind of modifications did u have to make to get it to work. from the pix it looks like it was made for the car, good job.

The hangar was too low on the muffler so we had to push it up and the piping wasnt an exact perfect fit after that. We used zip ties to hold the hangars together, but of course replacing it with a metal clamp would make it more permanent.

WOW.

The welds on that exhaust look way better than my DC Sport exhaust.

Nice quality looking exhaust.

This will fit the xB with no modifications, correct?

speedelement

yes of course, originally designed for xB.

Sweet, this one isn't going to vanish like the N1 is it?

speedelement

Well we have a decent stock of them (fireball), and until recently we had the N1... we are trying to get as many applications from Tsudo as possible.

did that xA, have any other mods, or was that just the exhaust?

speedelement

the xA was stock, just swapped the axleback.

I had a Tsudo exhaust on my Honda Prelude, and it was a great bang for the buck. I could've bought two Tsudos for the price of one Greddy. And now that I think about it, I got it from Speedelement via eBay. Good seller!

yeah looks like its at $150 but i was curious if the shipping was less than $100. i would assume like $30-50 to ship something that size and weight?

speedelement

that is the shipped price to anywhere in 48US. CA will have tax though.

what exactly is the difference in the fireball and the N1. I just bought an axleback for my girlfriends XB, hope it sounds as good as the video. What else is on the car in the vid?

speedelement
05-01-2007, 04:55 AM
nothing modified on the car, completely stock.
N1 is a bigger canister, which is slightly quieter. some people might or might not want the big 4.5" tip on it.

how in the world do you get the silencer out?
i tried a clothes hanger and it wouldnt even budge

speedelement

I used a tire iron from a mercury villager aka nissan quest, it has a small T at the end of it that perfectly fits in the silencer hole. Then just pulled/hammered it out with that.
FYI fireball is completely out of stock.

For the fitment issues on the xA there is an easy work around. If you look at the rear rubber hanger you'll notice that it's got quite a number of openings in it. Simply use the rear-most opening just below the point where the body mount goes thru the hanger. You still have the vibration isolation of the stock hanger and the exhaust tip will hang about 1" below the bumper.

BTW - I got my Tsuedo from speedelement on eBay as well. Very happy with the part and the service. And...no...I didn't paid for this either. :)

Sorry if I sound like a n00b, but how do these sound at higher rpms? I was sold on the Precision axleback since I've read that it quiets down at higher RPM's, but a more affordable alternative would be nice.

wow nice price! doesnt sound too bad also. how's the sound from the inside? Its a little throaty at times....like...sudden downshifts, but those are far and few...

Thank You Speed Element for the exhaust. Just installed mine today. Sounds nice. This is my first aftermarket exhaust so I really didn't know what to expect. I have to admit that it seems louder than I imagined with the silencer. Oh well. gives me an excuse to buy a better sound system. :lalala:

Fitment was nice and install took about an hour. Might have been less if I had a real floor jack.

My only concern is the clearance from the top of the tip to my bumper is about 3/4". That tip gets pretty hot and I'm a little concerned with burning my bumper? should it be ok?

speedelement
08-14-2007, 07:57 PM
Is the tip touching the bumper? Because the tip comes out further than the edge of the bumper there is less chance the hot exhaust gas will be able to burn the bumper. Try revving it and seeing if the tip ends up hitting it. Also (if you have an automatic) have someone put the car in drive and hold the car still, there is usually more engine movement at low rpm.
It should not be a problem, but try to check the bumper frequently, making sure the bumper paint is not wrinkling.

how
08-14-2007, 08:37 PM
no, nothing is hitting. i was just wondering if the 3/4" was typical clearance.

speedelement
08-14-2007, 08:43 PM
yea it will sit pretty close like in the test fit pics at the top... so far no problems.

I installed my Fireball last night, looks good, sounds good, but it's hitting the body over the axle, I'm going to take another look at that tonight though. Hopefully it is just something that I misaligned in the clamp or one of the hangers. I'll try to post some pics

DJ_SpaRky
05-16-2008, 01:47 AM
Well, I had to loosen the clamp and wedge a screwdriver handle in between the tube and the body and then retighten it. worked like a champ, too bad it was too dark for pics.
