I know it may sound lame but here is a link to the community there and the surrounding towns...maybe this will help for your "local" entertainment...

Drive up to the Hood Canal bridge. Just past the bridge, on the left, there is a road to a beach park. Get out of your car (obviously) and walk under and past the bridge (quietly) and explore the plethora of marine life there at low tide.
My grandmother lived in one of the houses up on that bank. I would spend hours on that beach, looking at the sand dollars, crabs, oysters and such. It really is an amazing beach! But be respectful and don't mess with anything there. Just look and be stealthy as to not ____ off the people above.
And after you're done, you can drive back up to the bridge, park and go walk out on it if you like. There's a nice spot under it that people can go fish on.
