i got it with my tC and never could i have 6 cd's in there. I always got the "Error 4" or whatever number it threw out. So i stuck with 1 cd untill i got an ipod and an Alpine HU. Wayyyy better than that Pioneer Scion crap! After a while of being on here i saw more and more threads on "why do i get an Error 4?" I knew i wasnt alone. Thats why i dont like Pioneer!

I agree...

Who needs CD's when you have an iPod adapter.

Although, I do have the Alpine IVA-W200 touchscreen w/DVD, so I am carrying the ocassional concert DVD now.

How does a double-din look?

Depending on how clean it will look, I'm looking to having a Pioneer Z2...

I have never seen a pioneer changer last long, and the tC;s doesnt seem to be any better. Pioneer cd players have been marginal at best in my and others I know experience. I personally have had 4, my gf 2 one of my friends 2 and and two people with changers in thier home. None of them made it two years without issues. The single disk in my tC is the first one that has lasted any amount of time so far, and it occassionaly has issues. So that is probably why they stopped with the changer, as well as the ipod adaptor taking its place.

pioneer that you can even pick up from best buy will always be 1000x better than ones installed from a manufacturer.

realistically, i think its either go alpine or pioneer for aftermarket HU.

All of the pioneers I mentioned other than the home units were single disc aftermarkets... all failed and had issues in 2 years. I used to like Pioneer, but will never buy another one of thier units. I new a dealer that was saying he would stop selling thier stuff because they had so many returns on them. Some of thier higher end double din units may be better.. I dont know really. I will go with an eclipse at some point.

Thats the one I like But I am more concerned with handling and will start Autoxing the tC this year, so my car money is going that direction. Too bad I am not still in contact with my audio dealer friend.. I got all my stuff and his price, which was about 50% of list

The problem is people put in CDs with home made stickers or labels on it causing it to jam inside the unit.

Cd's won't be going away, some of us actually enjoy uncompressed digital music.

Probably in the future we'll all have dvd-audio. well i can dream at least!

^^ Maybe 10 years from now I-pods will replace DVD video and CD audio. Like most of the expensive computer setup, imagine all home or mobile TV units with hard drives and USB ports for I-pod interface.

Back on topic:
Isn't the error 4 description a high current supply to the radio? Maybe low current? Or is it a different fault code? I remember reading on that in my radio manual last year but I can't find mine.
