Silver Painted Speedo Trim +Your Pics too!
I have an extra speedometer guage bezel and I want to paint it to match the silver/aluminum interior. Anyone know what type of paint(s) I need?
Has anyone done this and have pics?

Sorry I didn't tell you last night what kind of paint to get but it wasn't in front of me.
Here's the paint I used; Dupli-Color Engine Enamel (in a silver can) and the color is 'Aluminum' (DE1615). Very little prep is involved in this. Basically you pop of the Bezel, clean it really good with a mineral solution (or rubbing alcohol), and then paint away! I think I sprayed 4 coats, but it may have been 5. 2-3 coats of clear after you're finished painting and you're good to go! Degree of Difficulty:1 out of 5. Super easy to do!
I did this because I have a 'o5 SSM and I wanted to incorporate subtle silver/aluminum touches to the interior. As you can see in the pic, I also painted the 'Sail' piece(s) by the window. (Next to the steering wheel.) Lastly, there is very little glare at night because of the clear coat. I don't really have a great pic of the bezel lit up, but the glare is hardly noticable. Any more ?s, post them up.

yeah, except I just messed up. I was applying my last coat to the bottom parts, and got a little sag....I have no sandpaper! Hopefully it won't be too noticeable. Letting it dry for 24 hrs....
