Are you happy with your xB purchase?

What did you trade in for your xB?

Yes I am happy with my xB purchase.

But I would under absolutely NO circumstance purchase it again...

... I've already paid for it.

Yes. And would consider another one, especially if they make available here the 4WD and sunroof models which are available in Japan.

I bought my XB for the fun of it. I have two other cars.
After having it for two months and having put 700 miles on it, I would like to get another one to daily drive and leave the one I have now as my low mileage Xb.

For some reason I really dislike the orange Xb's out there. They look like toys to me.

Really enjoying the xB requires a certain attitude about cars and maybe even about life. With all your questions, I wonder if you wouldn't be happier with something else.

Or are you trying to justify an xB to someone else?

no_xB_yet
08-29-2004, 03:50 AM
Nope,

I'm not trying to justify my purchase to anyone else. I'll be footing the bill.

Thought this was the place to ask questions.

I think he was just trying to figure out why all the questions. All you will get from here is opinions. The main thing to recall is if you want the car & like it. If you ask any driver out there if they would suggest you get there car I would say 80% would say yes.

As for being satisfied with my purchase, i definitely am...however, if i was in the car market RIGHT NOW, i would most likely look for something with more ground clearance and maybe 4 wheel drive.

I drive in the dirt TOO much for my poor xb to handle.

I am definitely happy with my xB purchase...........I would purchase one again. I traded in a 2001 4-Runner and haven't looked back since. The xB gives me more passenger space and it is costing me $300/month less!!!

I love my xB an my wife loves it too. We are getting another new car next summer to replace hers we will either get another xB or I will give her the xB and I will get a tC, don't know yet since I have not done anything to my xB. It depends how much I decide to modify it over the winter.

I bought my BCP xB yesterday and love it! Needed a change...wanted something different . I traded in a Mazda MPV mini-van. Had 2 in the last 10 years. My kids also love it and yes I would buy one again even though I've only had it 24 hours!

I'd buy another xB in a heart beat. The only problem I've had in 32k miles is the tranny letting go at 31,764 miles! I seem to be the only one that has had this problem. Its properly maintained at the prescribed intervals, and is a Toyota. In case you're wondering, I don't race my xB, nor is it dragged or driven hard. I commute every day 160 miles round trip.

I'd like to get an xA next.. bring my roof rack from my xB onto the xA. Starting to really like it the more i look at it in person but that's just me. Also i should have gotten a silver xB or white. A lighter color would have been better.

I've got a Hot Lava and I've got a deposit down on a XA rs1.0 for my wife. If I could I would buy my two sons XB's.

I don't really care for the TC. It looks to much like everything else on the road.

Why did you trade the Accord? Did you want more room, or do you just like the looks of the xB?

I'd buy one again in a second.

After a test drive and hearing the pure pricing scheme, it was the easiest car buying decsion I ever made. It was $5000 less than everything else I was considering, it was as fun to drive as anything else I tried except maybe the Mazda3, it had more room than anything else and it had every feature I was looking for included as standard equipment.

Once I experienced the drive, I knew I would buy it that day.

In total, it took me about 1.5 hours from going to the lot just to test drive an xB for fun, all the way to financing, insurance and driving off the lot in my new car.

The car alone would make me do it all again, the superb buying experience (quick, no hassle, no pressure) is just icing on the cake.

It Depends on time..... I love the box, it's comfortable, roomy and functional with a healthy dose of style. I average 30-35,000 miles per year. If it holds up without major repair and the body doesn't rot I'd consider another one. But by then Scion would have pulled the plug on the xB so the real question is would I consider another Toyota product? This is my first Toyota and so far I've been satisfied except for the RATTLE HELL I've experienced from the stereo and dashboard that I've had to take apart and fix.

I got 243,000 miles out of a Chevy Corsica with a 6 cyl motor. No major repairs, no rattles and no rust at all. A real shocker for a Chevy, for once I had gotten lucky. Hope I'm lucky with the box.

Are you happy with your xB purchase?

What did you trade in for your xB?

I would do it again, I might wait until the new color came out BUT I would do it again.

for it's interior size, great gas mileage and price I don't think it can be beat.

[if I did think it could be beat I would have bought THAT car instead  ]

Just about any car will last if you take care of it. Routine oil changes, routine repairs, washing waxing, etc... My XB will be my first Toyota as well but I bought it based on it being a Toyota and being made in Japan and i've heard great things about Toyota quality so we'll see how it goes. As far as power goes, I don't want more power... I have a 5.0 mustang for that.

I've gotten eveything as expected from my Lava.

-Looks from people (stares rather)
-Great gas mileage
-A unique and different styled car

However, considering how "cheap" the car is, including the paint, AC, carpet, and all the plastics, I will not be purchasing another xB, even if I were to total the one I am driving. There are just tooo many good looking cars coming out that I would love to get my hands on. But hey, that doesn't mean I wouldn't own a future (different) Scion model.

So no, I would NOT buy another xB.

I am very happy with mine and if another RS came out I would definately try to buy 1, other than that...hmmm...I would more than likely buy again in a few years, but seeing as the box style xB will not be around in a few years I would have to say no...but only due to non production.

How can you fault a vehicle that costs 14,000 dollars on the quality of the paint, capet and plastics? I think the quality exceeds many cars that cost much more.

I got an black xB lowered with intake an exhaust and sounds! Its a great car/wagon! I will buy next years model for sure as soon as this one is paid, even though I have a couple of issues! Overall the car is great performance wise, the only complaint I have is that I wish they would replace the cheap metal an cheap paint job. Just touch the metal on the door an see how it is so pliable unlike VW or BMW cars. Not trying to compare it to more expensive class cars but the sheet metal is cheap an I have dents that shouldnt be there! The paint on the front chips pretty easy. These complaints are inexpensive improvements that scion can address without spending alot of money to fix in the new models that Im sure alot of you can agree with! I will purchase a new XB anyway becouse Im so happy with the purchase all around but these are improvements that are needed and wont cost scion alot. Hopefully we all can look forward to these improvements in new models!

Seems like much of the dissatisfaction with the xB isn't warranted for a vehicle that cost less than $15k. The initial JD Power poor assessments weren't based on actual problems, but on expectations.

Many people are looking for a vehicle that demonstrates the economy of a Toyota Echo and the capacity of a 3/4 ton cargo van for less than $15k.

I'd buy another in every color. I've bought a few cars in my lifetime. But this is the first one that I chose. This is the first one that says something about me. This is the one. Enough said.

I'm really happy with the one I just bought my wife, a Camo 05 XB. We traded in a 01 Focus we had on a lease. While considering the Xb vs the Honda Element, we chose the Scion for the room, gas mileage and overall feel of the car (did'nt like the Honda dash, got annoying on the test drive, would have been a real pain day to day). We looked at every Ford & Ford owned product (Mazda, Volvo, etc.) because we can buy them below cost with my father in law's Z-Plan Ford buying privledges, he's an ex-Ford factory foreman & we get all Ford & Ford owned products 2% below dealer cost (example is 05 F250 Super Duty 4wd Crew Cab LB Powerstroke with a $45,896 sticker for $36,845 which we almost bought) but NOTHING had the back seat leg room of the XB & I have tall kids. Would I buy another? Depends on the next Xb release color, if I dont like it I'll either get a Xa rel 1.0 or a Tc. Anyone want to buy a 97 F250 CCSB 4x4?
