Internet research has provided evidence of K&N filters allowing more dirt through than paper does. This is due to the concept that increased air flow, will yield increased dirt ingestion. This phenomenon is evident in Used Oil Analysis results that show increased particles such as silicon when K&N filters are used. ymmv.
