Is it a screw or a bolt? I don't have a tC but they all use the same size, as far as I know.. You just need to know if it's a screw or a bolt. I got mine from like autozone or equivalent and they fit fine.

Go to an auto-parts store. They will have screws that are specifically designed for license plates. There are 2 different types to choose from:
Metric (Imports)
and
Standard (Domestics).
Obviously, you have an import. As long as it's a metric screw, it will fit. Any other options of the screw will NOT make a difference of fitment.

I had the same problem.. no rear license plate bracket when I bought my car.

I don't think the two holes in the back are for putting screws/bolts directly into. I think you're supposed to put mounting hardware into those holes, and then screw the plate to the mounting hardware..

I just went to walmart and bought the generic license plate mounting hardware. It pretty much consisted of only two plastic bits that snap into the holes, and then screws that go into the plastic bits. It was a crazy tight fit, and I had to use a lot of muscle to get those plasctic pieces into the holes..

i went to the dealership because i recieved 2 screws less than needed for the mudflaps. i went to my dealer and talked to a random tech and he took me to his tool box and busted out a HUGE thing of nuts and bolts. we went throught them and found a few that would work, FREE =)
