Default How do you remove this part?

I've got a little ding on my hood that would be EASY to push back out if I had access to the actual hood underneath. Unfortunately, there is that lining underneath which I assume is used to insulate. In any case, any idea of how to remove that lining (for lack of a better word) on the actual hood but underneath? Is it removable at all?

they are clips, and yes you can remove them, but you might break some of the clips, and you might rip the insulation. its actually like a blanket for a fire if your engine cought fire.

if you have a panel popper tool that will work best. if not get a long flat head screw driver and work at it

It sounds like it may not be worth it at all! Are the clips replacable (like the wiper cowl clips)?

I don't need to remove the cowl. I just have in the past, and those clips tend to be a 1-time use deal. I was just asking if they work them same as those, but in any case, if I can get new ones, i'll have to decide if it's worth getting underneath there.

good luck with w/e you choose to do

future refrence: the clips on the windshield cowl have a little circle in the center of the clip, if you push them down, it releases the clip. bet ya didnt know that did ya? if you dont push that button down, and you just pull at the clip, you more then likely will break it

Yea, I know that. You push them in and then they can come out. One would need a tool to take them out w/o pushing in the clip. Nevertheless, the break after several uses. At $.50 a clip, I don't mind replacing em

I've found it easier to use two screwdrivers for the little clips instead of just one.
