TRD Exhaust & low end grunt??
I recently put a slip-on muffler on my sport bike (1000cc 4cyl 4-stroke) and picked up a little power at the top end but lost some bottom end torque. From what I've read, this is common with less restrictive exhaust, gains at the top rpms and loss at the lower rpms. The tC is a 2400cc 4cyl 4-stroke so I'm wondering if the same holds true.
I also read that the stock tC muffler has some sort of valve built in that opens under hard acceleration and/or increased exhaust flow. If this is true, it's hard to imagine that Toyota would go to the expense of an valved muffler only for noise suppression, maybe it's also to improve bottom end torque??
Has anybody who has changed their exhaust to the TRD unit noticed any drop in bottom end grunt?
Thanks

Just had the trd exhaust put on my TC this weekend. Haven't noticed any loss in power. It almost feels like I have picked up a little boost. Car seems to run a little smoother and it sounds really good. Awesome mod for this car.
You shouldn't lose any bottom end with a slip on, for your bike, ussually you will lose it with a full system, get a power commander and some dyno time, and you should find at least a three hp gain across the board.(three hp and a better sound for around 400 bucks, amazing what exhaust companies charge, craziness!!!)
