So, I've had this Stiffy for about a week now.......
So, I've had this Stiffy for about a week now. Along with two other mods, a b&m sport shifter and a monster motorworks header. I figured it was time to rub one out, hahahaha, your dirty. With all of the mixed questions about the performance of each individual modification, I decided to do each mod one at a time a few days apart.
1. First was the b&m sport shifter. It took me a couple of days to unconsciously realize that my shifts were shorter and tighter. The stick, with the cage bushings stands at just about the same height as stock. This was, and proved to be perfect for me and the next couple of mods.
2. The second mod, was the Ingalls induced STIFFY. I have to say that this is probably the greatest mod anyone can do on a street rod. Back in the day, I owned a Mitsu Eclipse and literally shreded the engine mounts. So I hold the Stiffy close to my heart- GROSS!!! This product combined with the b&m sport shifter worked great. The tC drove much better, and the excelleration/ throttle responce was greatly improved. I rocked the Stiffy on the highest setting, and once I did the next mod I tighten it down to the lowest.
3. Last and loudest, is the MONSTER MOTORWORKS RACE HEADERS. They don't call them race headers for nothing. Holy shinkes!!!!! I am usually a pretty conservative driver.....not any more. Back in Janurary of 06, I bought M2's secret weapon intake, and have loved every minute of it. I have found it to be very well made/ designed/ and extremely functional. For months, I researched and read countless reviews on all of the headers available for the tC, all of which are different. I am an old skool rod guy myself, so the thought and the appearance of custom hand made headers makes my short and curleys straighten up. Not to mention I am still very happy with my M2 secret weapon intake. So the M2 headers. They are very cool looking and very hand made. They remind me of headers that Jessie James would create for the tC. A great mid-high range increase in power/ excelleration/ throttle responce. I am running the factory aftermarket TRD exhaust, and to me it sounds like a real import race car.
Dammit, now I am going to have to leave much later for work in the mornings, hahaha!

Okay, lets see if I got this. Below should be some pics of the factory header beside the M2 header.

And next the S-Pipe

Here is a pic of the M2 header installed

The next picture is looking down on the header, and the one after that is looking underneath the car showing ground clearance

A close up of the world famous STIFFY

And last but not least the whole family under one roof...err hood

i gotta say, i like how bulky they look. I went with megan racing headers because i loved the curves. They didnt make this "monster" header when i got my headers.
First thing i noticed was your o2 sensor on ur spipe. Whats up with that? Is it some kind of antifouler or extension?
Can your still have a strut bar with a stiffy?

kamileon:
Yes, the thing on the S-pipe is the anti-foul for the second o2 sensor. Because of the massive air flow throught the header, setting the o2 away from the pipe tricks the sensor into reading/ sensing the correct flow. It was seperate from the S-pipe and header.

I'm pretty sure that the trd and hotchkis are identical other than color and badging. Nevertheless, i'm unfamiliar with jetlounges diy, but i've installed many strut bars and stiffys and never once had to modifiy the wiper cowl. I've even installed a stiffy with a dc bar. In any case, thats how it worked for me. Maybe he prefered to modify the cowl. I've never seen it though, maybe a post a link so I can check it out?
