So I got my full header back system........
and now my Greddy SP2 is hitting the heat shield. Has anyone else had this problem? The megan midpipe is a little longer than stock i think and it pushed the axleback, now the hangers are touching the heat shield and now i got crazy @ss rattling noises from the rear. Any suggestions on how i can fix this? I already tried bending the heat shield upwards.....
Yeah I'm having the exact same problem with my HKS setup, I have a megan midpipe and my rear section is rattling, I thought about cutting out some of the heat shield but I might just get a test pipe fabricated
nope, pretty loud! took off the megan mid and instead i now have.......
alphawerks header - megan spipe - OEM mid - SP2 -----> PERFECT sounds great w/ very very little to no rasp at all. prefect for people who don't wanna have to go and put a big resonator in the midpipes. sorry no sound clips tho

i felt a big difference in gains primarily in the high end.....when i had the megan midpipe for some reason the car felt slower and i lost a lot of low end.....its perfect now i dont have the need to get a aftermarket or custom midpipe cuz to me its not worth the extra 2-3 hp + / - and also worrying about is it gonna sound good
If you wanna know if its ok to remove the heat shield... And if you are talking about the heat shield in the very back directly under the truck, lol, trunk. Then it should be fine to remove. I cut mine off about a year ago and haven't had an issues.
haha i JUST noticed i said truck instead of trunk...but thats good to know anyway.....it was the megan mid that was longer than the oem mid so im not having any more problems with that
