Default Those with a tC

How much did you get it for out the door and what was on it?

I made a few phone calls and learned some things concerning the pricing. I've seen people post that they've gotten it for 18000.00 and some for 17500.00 out the door (these are the cheapest). All these are possble...but my real question here is how much did you get it AND what features/options did you have on it?

I didn't even know the sunroof was an option.

There was a base tC (Flint Mica) that was for 15999 brand new! This isn't the color of my chocie so I'm not going in this direction.

I'm meeting up with the manager of one of the dealerships tomorrow and hopefully everything goes well and I can make the purchase.

I just want to know how many of you got the sunroof option too? I'm also assuming it's much lighter without this option.

I paid 18Kand mine had a ped. spoiler. That was all. Well ... plus taxes and stuff it was more like 19K.

Uhhhh ... the sunroof kinda isn't an option. I think the 15999 one may be a spec tC. If you get one with a sunroof, then you have a regular tC, they are standard on all base tCs. If you don't get it, then you have a spec tC and you might as well get the real deal because that extra like 3K is worth it considering what you get. I think that this is the only way the sunroof can be an "option." But if you don't get the sunroof then you don't get the 17s, cruise control, engine immobilizer, or chromed headlights either (someone correct me if I am wrong).

BTW, I think the sunroof assembly weighs something like 30lbs. It's the glass that makes it heavy and no matter what tC you get, it's still glass on the roof.

are you talking about a brand new at a dealership?

if you know how scion works their called a 'hassle free buy'. this means no matter where you go your paying sticker. at any dealership the cars going to be the same price. I bought my 07 new in aug for 16,900, but i think the 07s are going for 17,500 now. thats base. i didn't get side curtain airbags/i pod hookup or anything else.

all tC's have the duel sunroof. you CANT not get it.

the FM you saw for 15999, couldn't have been a new 07. it might have been a new 06. but scion will not let the dealerships sell for less or more than sticker. goes the same for your interest rate if you get it finance through toyota financial.... you can't negociate the rate. its all based upon your credit score.

its a tC that does not have the following items a regular tC has:

-openable sunroof (just immobile glass top)

-Engine immobilizer system

-Cruise Control

-17" alloy rims (it comes with 15" steelies with hubcaps instead)

I think there are a few other items missing from the spec as well...

It's like the value version of the tC intended for tuners and cheapos, haha. It loses some of the goodies that come on a regular tC. You can check out this link for more info: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=120847

its not hard to figure out, all new scions are pure pricing. go to www.scion.com and build your scion. now you dealerships should have stock tc's on the lot with the only differences being color, manual or automatic, and with or without side airbags.

get your accessories online froms places like trd sparks and so on. don't get them from your dealership, they will rip you off on both the price and the install cost.

also, since they are pure pricing, they can't jack up the cost or give you a discount. the only variables are your local tax and title fees.

Yeah I understand. Trust me I've been running around the same quotes everyday haha.

It looks like Side Air Bags is what I have to chose from having. They dealerships are telling me the floor mats come standards on every car therefore I'm going to get charged for it...?

The manager that I was speaking with was very friendly so I hope we can figure things out.

I was gona pay for the floor mats. instead I got some from a local auto store for like 14 bucks. Fit perfectly.

I have the spec and although a lot of people don't like it, I'm glad I got it instead of the regular tC. I like the blacked out Headlights and grill more then the tC with all the Chrome around it. Didn't care for a sunroof so i had no problem with the moonroof. Cruise Control? Don't do much highway driving so don't care about it, but i could see that being a problem if u use the highway alot. Rims I was going to replace anyway so again, don't care. Only thing that I could have used is the Immobilizer. But I have an alarm so its not too big of a deal. Other things not listed:

05 Style steering wheel which I like better, Has a better feel then the normal 06 07 wheels imo.
No Audio Control on steering wheel, Honestly. If u can't reach an extra 6 inches to change the song or station I'm sorry.
No Engine cover: was gonna replace anyway
No Key Hole on Passenger side: Looks sleeker
Different seat material: either material would work for me

I think that's about it

i don't like the spec because you don't even save enough money to buy the stuff you would replace it with. you don't save enough money to get a nice set of wheels, cool engine cover or good alarm system. as for the key hole...

last weekend we had a snow storm and my gf was showing her family her new xa, and the driverside keyhole was frozen so she couldn't open it and had to use the passenger side keyhole.

so if you have a dead battery, and something is wrong with your one and only keyhole...your sol...

^ Point taken.

To each their own. The stuff you replace it with is generally more expensive then OEM stuff anyway. The only thing that I would replace in my tC is rims which would save me some money. With the spec, not only would I have the roof i want, but I could buy the Rims I want with the better tires and save roughly 300 bucks. It works for me. That doesn't mean it'll work for everyone. It all depends on what you want from your car. The Spec worked out better for me and I'm guessing the Base worked out better for you. In the end were both happy which is really what matters isn't it?

What I'm getting at is that it really depends on what you want, not one's "better" then the other. The base works better for Christian and the Spec works better for me. Just preference.
