One More Super White To Scionlife (Updated with New Pics)...
Hey scionlife people, I've been a long time reader of your posts but never thought my car was worthy of being on here, since I have minimal upgrades. Nothing much has changed, but I thought "hey, more than half of the Tc's on here are in the same boat as me." So no biggie.
"So anyways" (think nacho libre), I have an '06 TC in Super White with Black Injen CAI, 6000k HID low-beams, custom yellow foglights, custom eyelids (did 'em myself), and some other stuff I cant think of right now.
So I guess "howdy" and hope to learn from and be a part of ScionLife.
Just something to look at:

I found them on E-bay

These are chrome, but I painted mine black and clear coated them. Came out better than I thought. I mounted them directly on the side vent covers.

They aren't powdercoated, didn't want to spend the money since they will be gone soon. I used duplicolor wheel paint - bronze. They came out great and people give me props all the time.
Kinda of dumb question but where did you get the wheel paint. I dont think any of the local car stores have them where i'm at.
Nvm I just bought 5 cans I hope that is enough....
How many did you use?

-- Some tips --
• Once you have the wheels off, before anything clean them with soap and water and a degreaser.
• Once dry, sand thouroughtly, very thouroughly.
• Mask off your tires (you don't want painted tires).
• Once your ready to paint, I applied 2 coats of primer, waiting 10 minutes in between. Let stand 10 minutes.
• Apply 2 to 3 light coats of duplicolor wheel paint, waiting 15 minutes in between coats. Let stand for about 20 minutes.
• Apply 2 light coats of clear coat waiting 10 minutes in between. Let stand 15 minutes. Then apply 1 light-medium coat and done painting.
The directions say they can be handled in about 4 hours but I let mine dry for about 24 (overnight and then some). They need about 5 days to completely cure - in that time try not to get them wet.
Be ready to devote a full day, and if possible have someone help you, especialy in the sanding.
Word of advice: Take your time!!! Do it right the first time so you won't have to do it again. It takes a while and by the time you start painting, you're tired. But trust me, once your done you'll notice the difference (or not).
Just in case: I am not responsible if you mess up, yadda, yadda, yadda (just coverim my a@@).
Any questions, just let me know.
Oh and BTW, this goes for everyone, I know and use photoshop on a daily basis (at work, but come one, who really works at work?), so in the future if someone needs something 'shopped to see what it will look like before they buy something, let me now.
