Default OEM Style Carbon Fiber Rear Bumper

Yes, I have searched SL and Google...

Does anyone have any knowledge of a company that produces carbon fiber rear bumpers that are shaped as exactly as the stock bumpers? I found replacements for the trunk, hood, and front fenders, but alas, no results for rear bumpers. In the future I might ask the same for the front ends, but the rear bumper is more important for me right now. Oh, and by the way, before anyone says something along the lines of "that's way too much carbon fiber, it'll look ugly or weird", I'm actually going to get it all painted to match the car, so no one will know that my vehicle has been heavily carbonized. I'm not doing it for looks...

Nope. I think it'll have to be a custom job.

lips, bumpers, sideskirts, mirror covers in carbon fiber will not save you any weight to justify the price of the part/paint to install.

abs plastic does not weigh much more than carbon fiber.

wow. you took that alot nicer than i thought you would, i thought you would go all bizzerk on me or what not like most people do.

the fenders from what i recall only save you like two pounds or so, and the fuel door? that thing is tiny, dont even sweat it.

THE ONLY carbon fiber i would EVER buy for my car is:
-HOOD
-HATCH
-ROOF

i can get you a great deal on AIT Racing Hoods, so let me know if you need it, im not making any money off of it, so dont worry about hte price, it will be low.

Most people need to learn to swallow their pride, before they end up swallowing their wallet!

The engineers at Toyota sure did sweat it when they designed the late generation Supra... hollow head bolts and hollow carpet fibers. lolorxz

Roof?? How would that work? Isn't there only the two "panels" (i don't know the proper word, if that isn't it) running on the edge of the roof surrounding the glass?

i didn't see anything wrong with what you posted.

for those looking to trim TC weight and think that CF is the end all, be all solution, you just informed them that there are other options. no sarcasm, no hate, no condescending, just straight up info...

Kaminari made a C/F replacement for the glass. I don't think you can buy it though...

thanks, but alot of people on this site hate the truth being spoken

but to the original poster, check out kaminari.com, they make carbon fiber roofs for us, and it saves around 50lbs off the top of the car i think. its a 3piece roof on our car, and it replaces it with one solid piece.

heres a pic of our race car with the roof on the car:

that also has the AIT hood i can get you a deal on.

also, alot of people dont realize that the most weight you can save will be with the stock wheels.. getting rims that weigh even 2lbs less than stock will be a noticeable difference in acceleration.

I have a couple of license plate-holder dents in my OEM rear bumper from another driver's mistake on the road. I'd like to replace it with a carbon fiber piece. Any ideas?

The CF roof is sick, but I love my sunroof too much to get that.
