i was really sick of how my tails looked like every other xB's on the road. Long story short i ripped both apart and sprayed them. the cool thing about painting the inside is that on dark body colors like BOP you dont lose all your contrast. the clear lens still offsets the paint but has a dark look. just personal preference whether u like this or the Nightshade style blackouts. I also taped off part of the reflector to make the bottom more clear next to the dark top. result:

thats actually my system which was floating until i put the inside back together

 

it was cake. take apart the tail like they show u how to in the tech section. called somthin like "taillight red out". once its apart, mask off the stuff u want silver and prime/paint the rest. I recommend flat black because it has a bit more pop. When i put the whole thing back together i used a bit of silicone to ensure a good seal, though ive heard u dont necessarily have to. I figure better safe than sorry. only other advice is to be carful with the lens removal cause its brittle as hell. the clear plastic dosent give much sign before it cracks. no warpinig or stretch marks, just SNAP! Heat it up like they tell u and take ur time. I put two small chips in mine

 

I really like it... I wonder what it would look like if the whole thing was done that way.

 

really wanted to do that, but backing up lookin thru my tints is bad eneugh with out killing the backup lights reflector.
