Bring on the Fun Event April 29th, 2007
Time to drop the ball and bring back some fun into the group.......
As many of you know the new xB will be coming out in May so more than likely this will be the last big event that we as a community will have to have an event with the original three models. Yeah old skool. Can you believe that the xA, xB and tC are starting to get old, who would of ever thought. So we at Camelback Scion wanted to do something fun for everyone to attend, This is a day to put aside how clean your car is, what did someone else do to theirs and just have a good eventful day. All ages are encouraged to come and hang out and/or participate in the event.
So here goes and let see a HUGE turnout for the last event before we welcome in the new folks or the old ones who trade up with the new 2008 xB
Here are the details for the event.
We will be starting from the Camelback Scion employee parking lot as we did for the Poker Run. For those of you that do not know the lot is right behind the dealership about two blocks away. We will then proceed thru one at a time thru the Camelback Lot as we head out to the freeway for a little road trip.
Then we will make a stop at Ikea, where you will be required to find "X" number of items in the store. You will NOT be required to purchase these items. You will however have to purchase one item before leaving the store. Please $5.00 to purchase this item.
Once you have completed the task at hand you will then return to the dealership for a Park n Shine event with food, drinks and prizes that willl be raffled off. We will need to get a good head count on how many Scion owners will be participating at this event so we can make sure we have enough goodies for everyone that attends.
Requirement, rules and etc non sense.
You must own a Scion to attend
You must be ready to have some fun
You must be ready to throw a wrench in someones day
and you must be ready to have that wrench thrown at you. see below
Bringing a Co-pilot or Pilots is a good idea. They can help you find the items u need.
This event is NOT TIMED and you will not win anything for being first back to the dealership
Rules
We will all drive with caution at the dealership, on the road and in the Ikea Parking lot at all times. No racing or you are axed from the event. Camelback does not promote or condone street racing of any kind. Go, have fun and enjoy
At Ikea you will be required to find a total of 6 items in the store. One at a time. Once you find each item you must come back to the front of the store to get it marked off you found it. Once you have done that you can go find the next item.
All the items will not be the same for everyone so please do not ask someone where this or that is, Tell them the TOTAL wrong direction. (insert Fun and laughs here) maybe some chaos.
There will be two people within the store that will have a "Jail Card" to hand out to whoever they see fit to pass them out to. They will not know anyone of you, but will just hand them out at random. Also the people at the front of the store will be passing these out. If you get one read the definition below.
The Jail card - Is just that, if you receive a card you will then have to stop doing what you are doing and start back at the front of the store before you can proceed to the next item. If you get a Jail card from the front of the store it is up to you to pass it to anyone you see in the store. If the two people that will be in the store pass it to you then YOU will have to come to the front of the store and start over.
Once you have completed all the items and found them you will be instructed to make a purchase from the store. This item will not be announced until you find all the items. You will then head back to Camelback Scion for the "Park n Shine"
You asked how are the two people gonna know who we are and we are in the event. no worries we have something special for that
We have talked to many and listened to you as well about prizes, trophies wtc. So instead of doing the normal prizes that might not fit your car or something that you might already have and dont need. We are offering what everyone could use or need.
Prizes
1st Place will receive a complimentary 30,000 Mile Service
2nd Place will receive a complimentary 15,000 Mile Service
3rd Place will receive a complimentary 5,000 Mile Service
We will also have an item for every Scion car that attends the event. Plus some other goodies if you are feeling lucky These prizes will raffled for those that complete the Ikea Treasure Hunt Run and found all the items and return to the dealership with their one purchased item. Hmmmm, I want to meet the marketing guy/gal who thought cross branding Ikea with Scion was good idea.
"Hey, I'm here to buy a room of furniture that I can fit in the back of my xB. Since I drive an xB....I can bring my entire living room home without delivery fees." (just gonna need that speacial tool that screws my wall unit together.)
Totally kidding.... just goofing with the promotions team.
They're having the same promotion over at Chevrolet Suburban....only it's a "Wickes" meet and folk are expected to bring stuff home full size in the back.

I'm totally down for this! it sounds like a lot of fun with a lot less driving involved 
one question though...if we live closer to Ikea than we do to Camelback, can some of us just meet everybody there? If not its no biggie, I'll drive it.

I will be there! HOW CAN YOU NOT GO! BREAKFAST For 1.99$ Plus I really need new drapes. Will just have to wait until then to buy them! (People will just enjoy the peep show till then! lol lol )
