yeah, i got into an accident


left orlando to come to my parents house tonight with a few buddies (we're going to a car show in the morning down in west palm, and my parents house is 1/2way in between) and we're in the middle of BFE.... opossum....

construction cones on the right, oncomming traffic on the left, so no swerving to avoid it

RS1 front lip was completely destroyed. I found a foot and a half long chunk in the middle of the road, and other smaller bits and pieces, but yeah, it's definitely not repairable. the front bumper faired pretty well all things considered... it *is* cracked below the lower center grille though, thankfully not all the way through. Once the new lip goes on, the cracked part will be covered, so im not too worried about it. The lower Figure LLC grille is good, a little bent, but i fixed that up tonight and it's back to normal. there was some hair from the animal singhed up on the header lol. I took some pictures, but alas, i left the laptop in orlando and am using my mom's computer which doesnt have my camera software, so no pics until monday when i get back.

so now i'm left to go to this show tommorow minus my front lip, with a cracked bumper. *sigh*

i've also got a few decisions to make too. what should i replace the lip with? OEM or another RS1? maybe some other lip? Should i go carbon fiber and have it candied blue, or just paint again? i need to find out like.... yesterday. HIN nightshift is April 14th, and i've already registered the car, so i need it to look pretty for the show.

fix front end, do suede, pretty the car up, blah blah blah. it's gonna be a fun 2 weeks.

Dude that sucks, your car looked sweet before so I'm sure whatever you decide will look kick a$$ again.

That sucks but it sounds like you got it all planed to cover that up your scion looks beastly to.

ouch. i went to a party last night at a friends house, but i didn't know how to get there so i let my friend drive my car... long story short, he hit an opossum last night too, but luckily it didn't damage anything on the car (considering I had only had the car fr about 52 hours)

 

"Opossum; it's what's for dinner!"

Dude that $ucks! At least it sounds like it was only minor damage. Be glad your whole front end didn't go to the crapper.

 

If it isn't, I'm sorry man. I read the title and thought "oh no," expecting something much worse. Dang oposums.

definitely not an april fools joke (though it does oddly coincide lol). there is a little upbeat part of it though.. with the lack of a front lip, lack of zipties holding the bottom of my figure llc grille in place, and a crack in the lower part of my bumper, i still took first place tC at the Scion VIP event today (my 2nd trophy, ever)

i think im gonna just get another plastic rs1 front lip. i really liked how it looked

but yeah, a buddy took a picture of my car today at the show... i actually used the lip as a show prop!

 

Congrats on taking 1st place... you deserved it.

 

Good luck with the car. My vote is rs1 again over oem. ...too bad the 5axis lip isn't out yet.
