ok ok, the kid is getting new rims!! BYE BYE TO TRD'S allthough I love them, I just need something else and it's been on my mind for a while...

long story short, my dealer is buying them back for one of their cars and I am getting a new set with that money...

Axis link- http://www.wheelsnext.com/product.phtml?p=1301

Enkei link- http://www.wheelsnext.com/product.phtml?p=1326

Tenzo link- http://www.wheelsnext.com/product.phtml?p=659

I want something a bit smaller with a bit more style and I want a lip if not a dish, at first i wanted all rim no tire but now I want deep rims with dark paint, something to cruise in, at high speeds

feedback please, help me decide....

And Enkei isnt for civics???? and before you hate, ive been building show hondas since the early 90's............. heres something to make you laugh, then vomit!! back in 93, American racing 15' 5 stars where the SHIOT!!! Cut springs and 15's tuckin! AWWWWWW the memories!

Bleek!! U know me pretty good! 17's PLAYED! 18's PLAYED! Step it up above the rest and go 19 or 20! Its bad enough these boxes all look the same, why not stand out a little! Get off the TRD tip that everybody is doing.

I can get you a AWESOME deal on Axis, so let me know what you wanna do!! Also, get that trick star!!!!! I want to see it!!!

My buddy has a set of 20' axis reverb for 1400 no tires brand new. Anyone here intersted, PM me

BLeeK

comfort??? U buyin wheels or a matress???LMAO

17's run the same as 18's and 19's. All you need is some coil-overs for the 19's and you'll be absolutley fine!! Just look at Mikes Lava that you saw!

Heres my opinion, get the axis in 19 inch, and spray the spokes the same as the car and keep the silver lip!!!!!! PHAT!!!!! U know im right bro!!

ArlingtonScionmatt
09-03-2004, 03:42 AM
bleek !!!! make sure its worth it to you ...i have to agree with jeff .......i think you need a mod look ......no one has it ......everyone has trd... 18'' you need 19'' bleek think about it ...the ride feels the same .... just got to look out for the potholes. but it is worth it to look good.

just what i think.....

Get crazy with it and rock some 12" Dayton wires.

:?

Uhmmmmm- I'm kidding.

With 108HP can these things even turn 19's???? Seems like you would look real fast and be stuck in the slllooooooooowwwwww lane.

BLeeK
09-03-2004, 04:30 AM
if you're dropped then with 19's you have to cut so you can turn, but im ok with that BUT i dont want such a ____ty ride.,.

Id deal for axis but i dont have 2200.00 for the rims,,

17's are perfect

Jeff_Chicago
09-03-2004, 04:36 AM
$2200.00?? Whos raping you on that price!!

U have to cut what so u can turn??? heres the deal with the shioty ride....... 40 series tires are the same on 17's 18's and 19's. Except 19's is a 35, BUT its not any smaller that a 40 due to overall tires height and width.

So to sum it up. your gonna have the same ride on 17's as you would on 19's!

Ive had every size so believe me!! I know!!!!

I totally agree with you on 17's being a perfect size!!! for a Hyundai!!!

BLeeK
09-03-2004, 04:39 AM
well Jeff when you get your xB, put 20's on it and you will see how unporportioned it will look and probably drive....

I see your point and respect your opinion I just hate being a 35 series allthough it looks good, it's a little less worry on a 40 I believe or so I've been told.. I will go back to a 18 possible 19 but dont want it too tight in there, once spring hits for sure...

Jeff_Chicago

Axis Reverbs are just Advan TCII knock offs. Sorry for the opinion, but you gotta go JDM wheels. I think they look the best espescially if you want a dish style. Better start doin some research cuz they can cost a lot of money and take a long time to get. I am on my fourth week already waiting for my Work Euroline DH's. Couls be another four weeks before I get them. Gues I'll put them on in the spring

^^if plan B works as planned

then I will still be sitting on the same size for around my cash range

I just love those axis rims for some reason..

reverbs only come in 18 4(lug) so I have little choice with those

either way they will be dark rims on my camo..

Bleek

I'm pretty much the only Civic on 18's that you'll hear of. (Atleast from my old board)

My ride comfort on the 18's were far better than my ride with my 17's. My sidewall was even smaller with the 35 series.

It's the suspension that keeps the comfort, not just the tire series.

I would rather see ANY 18" on your xB, than a nice set of 17's in my opinion of course.

I just think the wheel gap is as bad as the Eclipses'. :(
That's one of the only downfalls with the xB I noticed.

Either way, AXIS 18" would be baller for sure man!!!

just noticing all the debate with the tire size and rim size. and despite the overall diameter being the same or close to it you will have to remember that even with some performance mods (strictly standard bolt ons) i would find 20" rim and tire combos a bit of a chore for less than 108 hp at the wheels. now if your talkin supercharged or my fav. turbo then 15 would be better choice but 17" would look better aestheticly. now Axis has an advantage with the lighter weight. More unsprung weight would allow you to brake, accelerate, and corner better for sure. I have been looking at the Silver Axis Maglights myself or the formula 10 from tenzo in bronze. having a white xB littered with silver and Orange leaves the palatte a little dry. 17" although thought to be "played out" seems to be a good combo with price, availability, and aesthetics playing key points for me. I'm sure yo'll find what fits you and your style to be well worth the controversey.....

100% percent agreed and well said, i do ride hard and having a larger rim might take away from some of my fun but maybe not, never had anything larger then18 and I loved them but felt like I always have to watch for certain things, potholes etc etc,, thanks for the post....and the played out BS doesnt bug me in the least, i am on a budget so I have to go with my taste plus what i can afford and whats the most beneficial for what im trying to do..

contrary to popular belief I was going with 17's based on $$ cause I have ALOT going on the box right now and need some sort fo room to breathe...

Once i spoke to jeff chicago and got me talking to mike at drivers image in skokie I realised that Im not so bad afterall buying straight from him..

he's got thew rim i want 2 inches bigger than I have now, it seems crazy but at the same time, you dont see many 20's out there..

and yes I'll be rolling hard into work on them badboys, im gonig to look at them tomorrow and check out the coil overs..
