Default Carbon fiber hood question

WHat is the point of a carbon fiber hood? Are they significantly lighter, then the stock hood? If not i cant see why someone would want a hood that doesnt match the rest of the car.

Some people can't see why anyone would want an XB or a Scion or even a Toyota for that matter. It's just a taste thing for the most part, although, if you get enough CF prts on your car, you can significantly reduce the overall weight.

Default CF Hood

In addition to being a space age, high tech add-on, the CF Hood actually weighs about half what the stock hood weighs. 12.5 versus 25 pounds. Not huge, but it all adds up.

After all the other accessories (18" wheels, amps, speakers, leather, lights, sunroof in my case, etc) you need to replace lots of overweight stock parts with CF parts to try to get back the original weight of the car.
