Default Audio recommendations in Portland

I have the iPod stereo and plan on keeping that head unit. However....I want to add in a sub, upgraded speakers and amp and put in some sound deadening. I don't really have the time to take this project on myself - so was looking for a shop to do it in the Portland area. My question for this forum is - doe's anyone have any recommendations of places that actually know car stereo AND Scions tC's? I have stopped into a few places to talk to people and I either get a mouth breather who gives me blank looks or an over aggressive moron who tries to ram 3k worth of whatever it is that they sell down my throat.
I want some nice speakers that will fit under the stock covers and a reasonable amp to power them - nothing special - just a bit better than stock. Would love to hear any positive experiences and/or recommendations that people have.
I did notice that Gresham Toyota sells an audio upgrade that includes Infinity Kappa 6 speakers and a pioneer amp - but I haven't called them on it yet. Overall the package seems a bit spendy.

I've had work done on my old tC from Magnolia Audio/Video. Here is their Beaverton information:

There is Car Toys Clackamas, which did Nick's Box, and Know tCs pretty well, as the installers there have had two or so themselves... I'm not a fan at all of paying installs though, as EVERYWHERE seems to be a rip off for the work...

That's a good start - thanks. Magnolia is getting out of the car audio biz, they already shut me down. I tried Car-Toys in Tigard....they weren't too knowledgeable. I will try Clackamas. Do you guys have any recommendations on good quality speakers that fit in the stock holes?

check crutchfield's site, they will tell you what sizes will and won't fit in the stock holes. Polk Audio I think makes a component system that would be great.

I have always liked MB Quart speakers. It always sounds a little smoother, and is perfect for softer music where clearity is the key.

Audiozone on Corvallis does a pretty good job by the way, if you don't mind the drive.

Crutchfield(last time i checked) state that 6.5" speakers wont fit. However, with a quick MDF peice, they fit just fine.

Also, i think you will find that the work is not at all hard to do yourself and it will save you many $$$.

Hell, im sure plenty of people on this forum would not mind giving you a hand. If its on a sunday or monday i would certainly help.

I went to car toys at Jantzen Beach. FOCAL speakers are fantastic and the install was top notch. The installers nickname was "Scooter", he has 20 years of experience and they were all friendly and helpfull.
