Anyone know how short a person has to be in order to fold down the rear seats and lay flat on your back on the xb2? I'm hoping I can camp in the xb2 - laying flat on my back without having to bend my legs (I'm 5'6" tall)

Somewhere I read that if you slide the front seats all the way forward and recline them fully, then fold down the backs all the way, you're supposed to have a "flat floor the WHOLE length of an xB interior. Supposedly. Something about providing the youth culture with social entertainment spaces.

I thought that was on the tC not on the xB, but I could be wrong lol

ive done this. you have to remove the headrests. i didnt sleep in there, i had an 8ft piece of lumber that went from the dash to the tailgate. :)

is it flat enough to lay on or are there too many bumps and gaps between your back and the floor?

Yea Ive done this too except with a jeep wranglers front windshield and 2 frt. fenders. And I have slept in my xB before no backpain lol.

There are some postings i have read talking about with all the seats dropped you can fit a twin size air mattress perfectly in the xB. I have not tried it personally but sounds like an idea if you want to sleep in your car. Plus a twin size air mattress rolled up would fit under the passenger seat no prob. Do a search you should find the threads im talking about

I have read some of these postings but I'm talking about the xb2. The xb1 has the problem of the rear seat not folding flat.. I'm wondering if the xb2 does actually fold flat or if it "kinda" folds flat. Also.. how much length is there from the rear end to the back of the folded down rear seat? I'd like to be able to sleep as comfortably as I do on my bed at home if possible and an airmattress over curvy seats doesn't work that well. Even an air mattress would work best over a flat surface. If the flat area can cover about the top 2/3 of my body.. I think it could work..

I have an 06 xB and I know that the front seats are a little bit lower then the the back seats when they are dropped down. But i figured an air mattress would absorb some of the curves. I may be wrong though. But hey you could buy a decent twin size air mattress from target for under $40 and if it doesn't work out you have 90 days to return it.

At 5'6" you should have no problem as long as the seats fold the same way they did in the xB. I'm 6'3" and I have to bend knees slightly. So if the xB2 is larger you should be golden

My handy dandy Guide I got at the Scion Backstage event states that the new xB has:

Recline Flat front seats and split/fold flat rear seatbacks. If I were you--I would go to the San Diego Backstage event next week and try it out for yourself..........

lol...that will be funny to watch some guy folding the seats and trying out the "sleeping capacity"....

yeah..i was trying it out in the original xb at the dealership and one person checked to see if I was alright..lol
