I've heard these are pretty weak. True?

Just bought mine from the sonic electronix and installed it this week. This sub is good for the fitment, as well as if you're trying to make a system that matches the stock speakers. It is not a giant booming bass monster, but it does fill out what is missing from the stock speakers

Mine is on it's way! Great price! My car is a commuter/daily driver - I do a lot of work travel in it. I am just looking for something to fill out the stock iPod stereo and not take up a lot of space. I believe that this will fill that bill.

You can definitely feel it, but it sounds less than stellar when you crank it up. Better for modest amounts of bass

How does it get it's signal from, the back of the deck or tapping off the rear speakers ? how would run rca's to it ? to get it to work with a aftermarket deck ?

100W is not enough. But it's a sweet deal!

I have the sub that came in my tc...it's small and fits under the floor. How does this compare?

I have the Bazooka NOS 8A - looks like an NOS bottle. Probably about the same bass output as the VSE (maybe more?), but it's enough for me. The VSE takes up a lot less space in the trunk, but I like the 'visual' effect this one has - and I got it for less than the $174 they're asking for the VSE too.
