Default Figure LLC Grill Whistle Noise

Hey all, Just got my gloss black figure grills installed today. However, when I drive at highway speeds now (55+) I have a whistling sound coming from the front of the car. Did any of you notice this noise after you installed the grills? I wouldn't think the air passing in between the grill holes could be heard, just wondering if anybody else noticed this.

Are you sure it's from the grills...maybe it's just paranoia because the air passes through the grill into you engine bay...so i don't see how it is possible that you are hearing that

I definitely hear a whistling sound. My father was riding shotgun and noticed it too. So that rules out paranoia. It's weird because last night it wasn't making that sound, and the grills were the only thing i've changed since then. I guess I'll just have to get used to the noise...lol

its possible imo. did you make sure its totally secured? i would be it would be air passing thru a tiny crack around the edge/frame of the grill mouth/opening rather than thru the actual grill itself.

how many miles on the car? its not the intake whistle is it???

17k on the car. Not the intake whistle. I'm using the factory intake right now too. It could be what you said, a tiny crack on the outer edge. I do have a slight gap on the drivers side, the fitment with the grill was a little off. I"m guessing that's normal though for an aftermarket part. If I get a chance i'll post pics up tomorrow when its light out.

I used 6 zipties total for the upper grill...lol. 2 top, 2 bottom, and 1 on each side. I had a feeling I should have drilled more holes than what the directions called for.

maybe check the bumper and the plastic piece under the front bumper...when you put it back on, those pieces might not be secure enough and wind could be passing through it...i wasn't saying that the sound you were hearing was paranoia...just the thought that it could be the grill...that would pretty much be impossible

Ohhh lol. On the passenger side I'm missing the plastic piece that goes under the bumper. I bought my car used and for some reason I only have the plastic piece on the driver side.

nah, my factory intake makes a different whistling sound. I actually like the sound of that. haha. This is more of an an annoying wtf is this sort of whistle. I'm more willing to bet its the missing plastic piece under the front bumper. Thanks for helping to everyone who replied!

i'd say you could probably macguyver it with more zipties and maybe some duct tape or double sided/foam tape or something. i think i could probably build an entire car out of those 3 ingredients. :D
